Dueling Demonstrators Descend on Texas

By ANGELA K. BROWN
Associated Press Writer

Several thousand people descended on President Bush's adopted hometown Saturday, most in a cross-country caravan for a pro-Bush rally and others to support an anti-war demonstration led by grieving mother Cindy Sheehan.

Bush supporters gathered for an event marking the culmination of the "You don't speak for me, Cindy!" tour, which started last week in California. The crowd of about 1,500 chanted, "Cindy, go home!"

"You are giving hope and encouragement to the enemies of America," said former California Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian, a Republican who co-founded the group that coordinated the rally.

Meanwhile, busloads of war protesters gathered several miles away at "Camp Casey," named for Sheehan's 24-year-old son who died in Iraq last year. Several hundred people attended a bell-ringing ceremony honored soldiers serving in Iraq.

2. The numbers seem unlikely.
Divide the pro-Bush numbers by 5 or 10, and multiply the anti-Bush numbers by 5 or 10. That usually works.

4. The AP report is the only one I have found except for a brief MSNBC
report that didn't tell me anything new or show me anything new.

6. Don't believe anything Angela K. Brown writes
She's a RW opinionist for the AP, not a journalist.

8. I guess no one told them the bus caravan was canceled
because they couldn't find enough people to participate.

BTW: Where are the pictures of the hordes of pro-Bush supporters?

Here's our side:

Here's their side:

Much smaller tent, much smaller crowd. As a matter of fact the freepers have more flags then people. Trying to make up for their inadequacies I suppose?

to be exposed. The more pics, the better!

10. We are scaring the bejeebus out of them
The real terrorists, I mean....

("You are giving hope and encouragement to the enemies of America," )

from the article, is so contrary to the truth.

If Iraq continues, we will continue to have reduced capabilities in fighting terrorism in this country. Right now we have important continental forces removed from our soil to serve in this questionable mission. They could get back to the business of protecting America if there was an end to the Iraq occupation.

Think of the money saved as well, to be put to use here protecting us instead of there. The bankrupting of our country for such flights of fancy as Iraq, too is unconscionable!

11. Same story on CNN...
... expands the quote by "former California Assemblyman Howard Kaloogian, a Republican who co-founded the group that coordinated the rally..."

http://www.cnn.com/2005/US/08/27/crawford.rallies/index.html

In this piece Howard sez:

"The terrorists that are watching Cindy Sheehan's protest believe that this is something that might topple the current administration." Kaloogian said. "And I have a question that I want the media to begin asking Cindy Sheehan: How many more American soldiers are going to die because you are giving hope and encouragement to our enemies?"

What the fuck are talking about, Howard? Do you REALLY know what the "terrorists" believe? How do you know that, Howard? Do you talk to them on the telephone each night? Do you read their minds from afar? Or are you just making shit up because you're a fucking demagogue?

How do you know the "terrorists are watching all this? Oh yeah, I know... because you and they are the same. Two sides of the same fucking coin. Yin and yan. You and the "terrorists" have the same fucking agenda. KILL KILL KILL! That's all you scumbags, ON BOTH SIDES care about. You're all the same!

Howard, you slimy douchebag, I would like for the media to begin asking the Bush administration how many more American soldiers are going to die because they made shit up about Saddam having weapons of mass destruction. Got it asshole? This Gold Star Mom did not kill her son and is not killing his comrades, fucking George fucking Bush and Dick and Rummy and that asshole Perle and Wolfowitz are killing them. FOR OIL AND POWER! It's that simple.

Got it Howard?

13. It is pretty amazing
Edited on Sun Aug-28-05 10:30 AM by Mz Pip
how all these RW lunatic supporters of the war and of BushCo seem to know exactly what motivates the terrorists.

I am truly impressed with their psychic abilitites. Maybe they can get their own TV show. I think there's an opening where Miss Cleo used to be.

16. But this time they have a Nazi Lie Machine to cover for them to guide them
to launder their lies (like that odious "Sheehan said America's not worth dying for" lie) and so forth.

These people have always been with us. The Founding Fathers knew this and structured the Constitution to protect us from their minority seizure of power.

But that part of our National History is now over, and thus, what would once have been that "funny little man" becomes Scourge of the World.

And these loop-job become Brownshirts. Their full and final transformation is only a matter of time...perhaps 30 years, perhaps much less.

supporters are counted by the 'busloads' instead of an estimated number. fucking typical.

19. "I'm a uniter"
Now he's even got military families are divided! This guy has surpassed my most deepest fears when he got selected. Who brought this up? Bush did, he's the one who told reports when confronted with Sheehan that he knew of other families who disagreed with her. Way to go Georgie. Instead of swallowing some pride and talking with an american who has sacrificed for this country you sick your minions on her.

I really don't disagree with the pResident's policies (democracy in the middle east is a laudable goal), but I have no confidence this guy can do the job. Sorry, he f-cks up everything he does and he never admits a mistake. There's no way I trust this guy to do anything except pick up dog sh-t in my back yard!
