Police outnumber protests at Forbes meet
" Police outnumbered protesters at Sydney's Circular Quay where about 600 activists gathered to protest against the Forbes Global CEO conference.
The gathering of peace activists, environmentalists, anti-globalisation protesters and left-wing groups was organised to coincide with the three-day international business conference at the Sydney Opera House.
The talkfest officially gets underway on Wednesday following an opening dinner on Tuesday night, at which Prime Minister John Howard is expected to speak to the 360 world business leaders attending the conference.
Secrecy surrounded the location of the dinner, which had been widely expected to be held at the Opera House."

FREE Police Protection for the Super Rich
Tuesday 23-Aug-05 at 14:27
The handouts just keep coming for the super rich. If it wasn't enough to receive both state and federal government funding and the use of a cultural icon to promote their neo-conservative world view, the Forbes Conference is now getting FREE protection!
Unlike events such as rural shows and football games, which have to pay for police to attend, all those CEOs will be kept "safe" to wine, dine and schmooze AT OUR EXPENSE!
