Protesters kept far from APEC summit site
Protesters kept far from APEC summit site

BANGKOK, Thailand (AP) — About 1,000 protesters marched in downtown Bangkok on Sunday against a summit of 21 economic leaders, but government pressure kept the demonstrators far away from the conference.

The Thai government warned protesters not to disrupt the Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit, and officials would not rule out using force to stop them.

The protesters avoided drawing the government's ire by gathering at Chulalongkorn University and marching peacefully to a nearby shopping area — both places far removed from the major conference sites. About 100 policemen watched over the rally.

The demonstrators carried signs in Thai and English reading: "The world's real terrorist is George Bush" and "APEC — a group of ghouls sucking the blood of the poor." Many held multicolored balloons with drawings of peace doves.

One drawing labeled "My World," showed Bush painting the American flag all over the globe. (snip/...)

7. Finally!! Now we know what he had stuffed in his pants
When he did his "Mission Accomplished" farce. A solid gold Swastika in lieu of brass balls.
