Motorists pulling up to the pumps this morning may be wishing they filled up yesterday, after prices jumped overnight by as much as 20 cents a litre.

In Toronto, the price of gasoline at some stations was about $1.24 a litre. And in Montreal, gas prices hit $1.15 a litre.

On the West Coast, prices hit $1.21 per litre in Vancouver. Even in oil-rich Alberta, gas prices in Edmonton hit $1.24 a litre.

Out east, in Fredericton, motorists could expect to pay as much as $1.19 a litre. In Gander, Nfld., prices weren't much better, coming in at $1.17 a litre this morning.

1. I filled up on Saturday, thank goodness, it was at $1.08.9 a litre
at that time. It was thanks to the posts on DU that I realized it would be wise to fill up right away.

Of course nothing will be done about it. Seems like you all got it even worse than we did, regardless of exchange rate.

3. I hope the federal governement
gets off its ass and does something about this. Of course, that will piss Alberta off, but Alberta is always pissed off, so who gives a fuck?

4. Whoa! THAT'S expensive.

$1.24/liter x 3.78 ltr./gal.) = $4.687 Canadian/gallon

$4.67 Canadian x 0.838 (conversion) = $3.927 (US)/gallon

And to think there once was a time where people (like me) used to drive to Canada for cheap gas.
