Eli Lilly Limits Canada Pharmacy Sales
INDIANAPOLIS - Eli Lilly and Co. has begun to limit its drug sales to Canadian pharmacies, joining other drug companies that are trying to prevent their medications from being sold to U.S. consumers from Canada.

The Indianapolis-based drug maker told 24 Canadian drug wholesalers in a letter that it will limit sales of its drugs to amounts that Lilly estimates are sufficient to supply the Canadian market only.

"We think it's an appropriate step to take to protect the integrity of our products and the safety of our patients here in the U.S. and Canada," Lilly spokesman Rob Smith told The Indianapolis Star.

"This latest move by Eli Lilly demonstrates that these multinational drug companies are working together to prevent U.S. seniors from obtaining safe and affordable medications from Canadian pharmacies," Dave Robertson, president of the Calgary-based pharmacy crossborderpharmacy.com, said in a statement.

1. Is Eli Lilly implying the drugs they sell Canada are LESS SAFE
than those they supply to American citizens?

Eli Lily Sells Safe Drugs To Americans and Unsafe To Canada

or

Elil Lily Prefers To Sell Safe Drugs To US; Canada gets dangerous drugs.

4. what will happen to the price in Canada then?
If they underestimate the demand? It is , of course, corporate power running the lives of people--to their advantage--not to serve the people in a fair a decent way, but to bilk them anyway they can so their profit will soar and soar--need prilosec? I saw some of it in WalMart in the food aisle on one of those displays that hang from the end shelves--just hanging there --all you need to do is release it from the little clamp--and in Rite Aide I saw an entire floor display devoted to Prilosec. Used to a prescription drug--what happened that it is no longer a prescription drug and how does that happen? People are being left to their own--soon, medical professionals will no longer be needed--they will have priced themselves out of the market.

6. See... now you're onto something!
Prices are high in the US now and by being able to restrict supply in the name of uh, "antipiracy" or whatever in Canada, prices can be raised there, too!

What's better than ripping off one country? Ripping off TWO countries!!!

8. I think Daddy's on the board of directors
And I do believe that Mitch Daniels, the genius who came up with Bush's economic plan, was once a bigwig (CEO?) of Eli Lilly. Now he wants to bring his fiscal expertise to the governor's mansion in Indiana.

9. Sounds like a monopoly to me. Antitrust anyone?
Mitch Daniels, whose law firm still represents Lilly, is now running for governor of this great state of Indiana. I wonder how Daniels is going to explain Lilly's back stabbing of Hoosiers by cutting off their supplies of drugs from Canada.
