BREAKING NEWS: President Bush Will Visit Gulf Coast Tomorrow
WASHINGTON -- President George W. Bush will tour the hurricane devastated Gulf Coast region Friday.

Bush has asked former presidents Clinton and Bush to lead a private fund-raising campaign to help victims recover.

White House press secretary Scott McClellan said the president will survey the hardest-hit areas by helicopter, then tour some locations on the ground

13. Oh, Dear God...
I have seen some of the angry "survivors" (if you can call them that) yelling and screaming. And those who aren't yet - well, just give them another day or so of NO food, NO water, NO even semi-clean place to stay, NO medical care, NO job, NO money, NO car, NO help... oh man... does he REALLY wanna do that? This is like a nightmare... Shit - I'm actually crossing my fingers that nothing bad happens to him - this could get ugly.

or they're flying in their own entourage - Pretzel Boy can't appear in front of unfriendly crowds or without previous clearance. This must mean flyover.

on edit: it also gets him close to Crawford, he probably needs to get back there to pick up his golf clubs or the Bush girls need a ride back to D.C.

Where is their connection?

We should all demand that those so high and mighty and their direct link to heaven pray and make it stop.

Then we shove them out of the way after they have been exposed for the fools that they are.

49. He won't go anywhere near the suffering
What I want to know is, why has it taken him the better part of a week to at least acknowledge this? The brush pile at Crawford got down to a manageable level, and he could take a break?

And as an aside, I can't help but constantly wonder about the difference that could have been made if more National Guard and military were here that could have been immediately deployed to the Gulf Coast. That is the question -- among many others -- that this administration needs to answer. That, and why weren't better disaster plans in the works since we have been warned about a catastrophe of this proportion for years?

Is this a photo opportunity for * to try to appear as if he is so caring; that he has compassion?

Sadly, it will probably be some staged appearance, with * saying some "catch-phrase" to try to show leadership.

But, it won't work this time.

To quote * :
"Fool me once, shame on me"
"Fool me...uh...uh....oh well, can't get fooled again."

That's right *, I believe the American people have had it with your lies, incompetence, stupidity,(and the list goes on and on)......

(I wake up each day and see what has become of America, and I shake me head in sorrow. Please let this nightmare end......)

65. Just what the residents of NOLA need
Edited on Thu Sep-01-05 03:03 PM by Peachhead22
A fucking photo-op! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrr!

The extra security and resourcess that'll have to be diverted for this bullshit. Brett Farve, who has family in the area, didn't go down there because he realized he'd just be in the way and using resources the locals need. If you're not going there with help or supplies, stay the fuck away! It's common sense.

Sorry for the language folks. But this one really tripped my trigger.

67. no staged photo ops are gonna save him on this one
People are dying in the streets of america. dying of dehydration and exposure. more will die of disease and hunger before the worst is over and it will all be on the news.

An entire section of this country has been destroyed and he still does nothing except spout platitudes and (more) empty promises.

not even rove can save his sorry ass on this one. this isn't 9/11 when the worst was over in a day and he had an enemy to blame. the dead are in the streets, next to the living, next to the families, next to their own children.

this disaster is just getting going and he can not save the day. This is a tragedy that defies description and there's no official secrets act to keep the video off the news. america will want someone to blame and I believe it will be GWB.

73. Who the fuck cares??
Spend a couple hours walking around, and then give us the same damn speech he did yesterday, only updated to add that's he's now seen "the horrible devastation firsthand".

81. They must have found enough cool aid drinkers to form an audience and ask
questions like, "Mr. Bush, thank you for all the help and leadership you have provided us here in NOLA and can you please lead us in a prayer for the victims?"

83. This visit really is important to the hurricane victims
Seems like they've been holding off committing full scale assistance until AFTER the photo-op. So the sooner we get this over with, the sooner real aid can start getting through.

95. Gods, what bullshit.
The sensible thing to do is let Clinton handle the crisis and let the fucktard handle the fundraising. That's where their talents lie. The shrub couldn't find his own ass with both hands; what is he going to accomplish by touring the devastation his dumbass budget decisions helped produce?

I'm envisioning something similar to his little WMD comedy routine: Whoops, no survivors under here! Remember when he was first selected and the freepers were saying the grownups were back in charge? What an unholy unfunny joke on this country.
