Bush, Greenspan talk scheduled
President will meet Thursday with Fed chief to assess economic impact of Hurricane Katrina.


WASHINGTON (Reuters) - President Bush is to have lunch on Thursday with Federal Reserve Chairman Alan Greenspan just prior to a meeting with his advisers about the economic impact of Hurricane Katrina, the White House said.

"At noon, the president is going to have lunch with Chairman Greenspan. Following that lunch the president will participate in a briefing with his economic team. His briefing will be to discuss the economic impact of Katrina," White House spokesman Scott McClellan told reporters.

McClellan said it would be a chance for Bush to get a "preliminary assessment of the economic impact of the hurricane."
