Cheney postpones visit to Canada
http://globeandmail.com/servlet/story/RTGAM.20050904.wcheney4/BNStory/International

Toronto -- U.S. Vice President Dick Cheney has postponed a visit to Canada later this week in the wake of Hurricane Katrina, officials said Sunday.

Cheney had planned to visit Alberta on Thursday and Friday, stopping first in Calgary, then visiting Fort McMurray and touring the massive tar sands projects there.

Marisa Etmanski, spokeswoman for Alberta Premier Ralph Klein, said the White House contacted Mr. Klein's office Friday and the visit was cancelled due to Katrina. No new date was proposed for the visit.

5. He is thinking of hiding out in Paraguay instead
It was certainly popular during the late 1940's with people like him.

9. Last I'd heard, he'd "gone fishing" in Wyoming.
"...due to Katrina...". Hm-hm-hm. Must have something to do with the no-bid contract I heard Halliburton just got to "rebuild" something or other in LA (Trent Lott's second home?).

----------

I figured, when he went off to Hawaii two days before the election--after dropping some newsturds that Hawaii might turn "red" (Hawaii!!!) and he was going there to pump for votes (har-har-har), that that was Plan C, if Plan A (Diebold and ES&S preprogrammed 3% to 5% flip of the east coast region vote) and Plan B (Ohio--overt Voting Rights Act criminality) weren't sufficient to overcome Kerry's landslide. Plan C, well-prepared in the "news" ahead of time: phony "terrorist alert" shutdown of the major urban area (Democratic) west coast voting. I was thinking: V-P's plane under attack in the Pacific, emergency landing at LAX, something like that. That's what Cheney had positioned himself for. All in all, I think Kerry won by a 10% margin (counting all the purged black voters, and others prevented from voting), and by about 5% in the actual votes cast-- which was handily overturned by Plans A and B. Some say if Kerry had been more of an antiwar populist (or ANYTHING of an antiwar populist--which the Dem Party leaders wouldn't have allowed anyway), he would have won by a big enough landslide to overcome all the fraud. But I don't know--I'm thinking now perhaps his lesser landslide spared us martial law on election day, or a dead candidate.

Right now, what we may be looking at is Cheney trying to keep his bloody hands on the reins of power. I suspect that he is about to be indicted for treason (in the Plame outing).

Was anybody else struck by that odd Bush press event on Katrina, with Daddy Bush and Clinton standing behind Bush Jr. but saying nothing? I thought that was really weird.

We're reduced to reading entrails.

--------

Election reform! Only way to fix this. Diebold and ES&S election theft machines into 'Boston Harbor' NOW!

10. He wants to watch over the newest Haliburton operation
(easier to see NO, than Iraq) - and count up how much this adds to his portfolio which includes deferred payments and stock options.

13. I just got back today from 2 wks in Canada, and I can tell you, they
don't want his lying ass there anyway. The newspapers are full of questions and LTTE's about how come the incompetence, it would never have happened in a white Republican city, etc. Everybody is totally disgusted and horrified at this godawful mess.

16. Lucky you, and Lucky me..
I'm going on a Road Trip through Vermont and Maine on my way to the Maritime Provinces. Will be in Halifax on September 10th for a concert at the Schooner Room with "The Proclaimers" who are from Scotland.

I want to get this Fascist government out of my mind for as long as I can.

18. Just made that trip on my way home!
I drove through the White Mountains and then through Maine on the way back to Halifax just a bit over a week ago. Very pleasant and a pleasure to get home. I sang Stan Rogers' "Northwest Passage" all the way.
:hi:
