LAS VEGAS (CP) - An emotional Celine Dion took an apparent swipe at the U.S. policy in Iraq during an interview on CNN's Larry King Live in which she made a major cash pledge to Katrina disaster relief.
During an interview with the CNN talk show host on Saturday, the Quebec-born singer broke down in tears as she talked about the devastation hurricane Katrina has caused to so many lives and the need for the Bush administration to concentrate on those suffering at home.
"How come it's so easy to send planes in another country, to kill everyone in a second, to destroy lives" when Americans need to serve their own country, she said.
Dion, speaking from Las Vegas, said she's been emotionally consumed by the images of hundreds of thousands of people in desperate need of help.
