"On Sept. 15, the Transportation Security Administration received an e-mail from Heatwole stating he had "information regarding six security breaches" at the Raleigh-Durham and Baltimore-Washington airports between Feb. 7 and Sept. 14, the FBI affidavit said."

<snip>

"The e-mail provided precise details of where the plastic bags were hidden - right down to the exact dates and flight numbers - and even provided Heatwole's name and telephone number. It's unclear whether Heatwole actually hid items on four other planes."

SO - Everyone feel safer now that Saddam is gone? He was the right target, right?

Bueller?

Bueller?

3. More than anything, this points up the selective nature of Fatherland

Security. Can we just admit that the Bush Administration LIHOP re: 9/11 and that nobody poses a REAL threat to us unless Cheney, et al. wants an attack to occur? And that it povided a great excuse to crack down on civil liberties? Look at the news: spyware is everywhere, file-sharing can lead to prison time, and yet airline security (y'know, the thing everybody was feaked out about post 9/11) is a farce. Our tax dollars are going to oppress ourselves.
