Australian Aircraft Licensed to Kill for Bush Visit

CANBERRA (Reuters) - Armed fighter jets with a license to kill have begun patrols in the skies over Australia's capital as the city on Tuesday began an unprecedented security operation for a visit by President Bush.

Royal Australian Air Force F/A-18 Hornets, with permission to shoot down suspicious planes, will escort Bush's plane, Air Force One, into Canberra on Wednesday night and patrol the usually sleepy city's skies during the president's 20-hour visit.

It is only the second time armed air force jets have flown operationally over Australia's mainland since World War II. The first such operation was mounted last year as leaders of the 54 Commonwealth nations attended a summit on the northeast coast.

Australian Defense Force spokesman Brigadier Mike Hannan said the fighter deployment would be complemented by a range of other measures to ensure Bush's safety during his first visit to Australia and guard against any September 11-style attack. (snip/...)

3. Don't forget-Chimpy takes TWO THOUSAND "Security people" with him...
And we think he's a "moran"...He KNOWS how much he's hated throughout the world.

Food tasters, phalanxes of "security personel", other countries have to arm fighter planes and keep them in the air 24/7 while the Boy King visits.
I'll bet he really gets his rocks off over all the fuss.
"Hey, look, Ma, I'm IMPORTANT!"

Yeah, and you're impotent, too...

5. Ambiguous title
I'm half asleep here (or bombed out on patent cold medications) and the first time I read this I thought it said something about the Aussie air force given shoot to kill orders for Bush.

I mean I know he's got people pissed off and all but that's a bit much.

6. Have they taken all the pretzels off of store shelves yet?

It's the little things that often get overlooked.

7. It is sad, and also ironic, that Bush is the first President

in American History, that cannot fly anywhere in the world without
confronting the fact that so many people want to kill him. He can't
stay on the ground in any country for more than a few hours, and his
food has to be fed to rats before he eats it. Doesn't he "get" any
of this, and see that he has made America a pariah, and himself a
target of so much hatred, that maybe, just maybe, he is wrong in
his blind aggression? Bush 41 never had this problem, or Clinton
who drew welcoming crowds. It's not a good sign for the future of
this country, and all the more reason why we must somehow elect a
Democratic administration to seek sanity and balance, and restore
respect for our country in the world.
