Pelosi Statement on Removal of Michael Brown From Managing Hurricane Relief Efforts

Houston - House Democratic Leader Nancy Pelosi released the following statement today on President Bush removing FEMA director Michael Brown from managing Hurricane Katrina relief efforts:

"At last President Bush has recognized what I have been saying for more than a week - the federal response to this disaster must be managed by a capable leader. Admiral Allen is an emergency response professional, which has been lacking from federal management of this crisis. Admiral Allen has a difficult job ahead, but at least he brings to it years of experience.

"With qualified, experienced, and effective leadership on the ground, we can work together to provide the victims of Hurricane Katrina with the income, food, clothing, and housing resources they desperately need to begin the long process of rebuilding their lives."

2. Hey, credit where credit is due, I expect. No more, no less.
Hopefully.

I mean, she can't say in so many words, "It's about fucking time you did SOMETHING right, shit-for-brains," at least on the record...

4. Will we ever hear junior ever mention Mike Brown's name again?
Only Karen Hughes was awarded the honor. Admiral Allen hasn't been mentioned yet by junior. Of course junior will call Admiral Allen, "Big Al" Your doing one of hell a of job Big Al.

6. Oh lord, I hope Allen's not bald...
I can't really tell from his bio picture. If so, he'd be wise to keep his distance...

11. The appropriate response to THAT would be:
"Sir: with all due respect, I have earned the rank I hold, and in official capacity, I offically request that you address me as such."

8. First things first. She'll first want to emphasize the change...
... and give the new guy her support, emphasizing that the previous guy HAD NO EXPERIENCE.

Taking down Brown, the rest of the way, can be done later (weeks); if he hasn't already been removed.

Once the bodies are out of sight Brown will quietly be named ambassador to Khyrgistan. Never admit a mistake even if you are one.

7. This is what she should have said,,,,,,,,,
"We need to find out who in this administration appointed this guy Brown and who was responsible for failing to check his resume and credentials. How many more unqualified people are in important jobs in this adminstration who also might have lied about their qualifications without anyone from the administration checking them out.

Also, The FBI should investigate if laws were broken because of lies made in employment applications."

15. I read that as her submitting proof that * was wrong.
And * had to finally make a corrective action, which she is happy for the action. But it does not take away from anything that happenned before.
