DUBAI, Sept 12 (Reuters) - A previously unknown Islamist militant group said in a video posted on the Internet it had kidnapped a Lebanese man for supplying alcohol to Iraqi and U.S. forces in Iraq.
The video, posted on Sunday, showed a bearded man urging his Lebanese employers to quit Iraq to save his life. The man, pictured sitting on the ground with a gunman pointing a rifle at him, gave his name but it was not fully audible.
The Lebanese Foreign Ministry identified him as Qurabet Shekerejian and said it had it had instructed its charge d'affaires in Baghdad to contact Iraqi authorities to secure his release, Lebanon's official news agency reported.
"Obey all these orders, otherwise they will kill me and you will be responsible for my life," the man said on the video. "Leave Iraq, leave Iraq."
