New Orleans 'Broke' (Can't meet next payroll)
Sept 13, 2005

Amid the good news in New Orleans, there is some bad news for the hurricane-battered city.

Mayor Ray Nagin says New Orleans is "broke", and is unable to make its next payroll.

He says the city is working with banking and U-S government officials to secure lines of credit through the end of the year.

On a positive side, Nagin says the city is now n a "normal, day-to-day crisis mode."

Dry sections of New Orleans could re-open from dawn to dusk as soon as Monday.

3. drip...drip..drop ...Trickle down
doesn't work - DUH! Good thing "we've turned the corner" and those tax cuts for the 1% stimulated the economic boom we now find ourselves in. Hey but Halliburton and KBR and the like they are doing ALL the good so all is well.

Don't REGULATE the FREE MARKET YOU SOCIALIST/COMMUNIST HIPPIE FREAK!

I am SICK AND TIRED of waiting for corporations to do the right thing by the people. It will never happen. I am all for capitalism but it can't continue to run amuck while the people who support them suffer and while our planet is destroyed by stupidity and greed.

See, my faith tells me that I am to be a steward of this Earth. I don't own it.

2. if you're going to reference "boots on the ground"
you may as well get the direction of the trickle right, as well.

I doubt much of it's heading down.
