At a news conference in Bangkok on Tuesday after the summit ended, Mahathir said he and Bush had no quarrel.
"All he said was that I regret today to have to use strong words against you." Mahathir said, according to news services.
Mahathir, 77, maintains he was not chastised by Bush, "unless my hearing is very bad," he said. "But it is still very good. I can hear very well. He did not rebuke me at all and after that, we were walking practically hand-in-hand."
