Al-Qaida in Iraq declares all-out war
Edited on Wed Sep-14-05 04:53 PM by Mark E. Smith
MSNBC 9/14

BAGHDAD, Iraq - After a dozen explosions ripped through the Iraq capital Weds, al-Qaida's leader in Iraq purportedly declared all out war on Shiite Muslims, Iraqi troops, and the country's govt in an audio tape released on the Internet.

The speaker on the released audio tape, introduced as Abu Museb al-Zarqawi, also said his militant forces would attack any Iraqi it believes has cooperated with an ongoing U.S.-led offensive in the northern Iraqi city of Tal Afar.

"If proven that any of (Iraq's) national guards, police or army are agents of the Crusaders, they will be killed and his house demolished or burnt - after evacuating all women and children - as a punishment." the voice said in the new tape, which surfaced on an Internet site know for carrying extremist Islamist content.

The speaker announced "all-out war against Shiites everywhere. Beware, there will be no mercy."

Just another day in George W. Bush paradise. 4 years after 9-11 and al-Qaida has become strong enough to take on an entire govt, one that is backed by U.S. troops.

1. And to think, we were THIS close to getting that guy
The crafty Zarqawi has eluded us for the last time. They say the 473'rd attempt is a charm, so I have high hopes for next time.

There is still, however, that prickly problem of Zarqawi not actually existing. I believe that this somehow contributes to us not being able to kill or capture him.

12. Interesting that Abu Musab al-Goldstein mentioned women and children.
Correct me if I'm wrong, but don't purported terrorists usally NOT care about women and children dying?

At least, that's what's been drilled into our heads for years now.

2. So I guess this is the official start of the civil war.
Congratufuckinglations, Mr. Bush. You just made the world infinitely more dangerous than your predecessor.

But at least you didn't get head in the office.

Isn't that what Smirky told us? Just look at what you've done, Smirky and Rummy, just look. Look and look and look and look. Maybe you can do a fly over of Iraq? And then you can blame it on the locals, right Smirky? :sarcasm:

Good thing, but wouldn't an organisation with a profile like al-Qaeda use rather tactics of hit 'n run and car bombings? I mean, the West are after them for 4 years and not much has happened. You'd think they would not clown around and reveal who they are...

"Get out of the house!"
"Wha?"
"Get out, we're al-Qaeda!"

Since when has Abu Museb al-Zarqawi worried about killing women and children?

17. Nice touch that. Wonder who really recorded this message?
Reminds one of Saigon and CIA false flag operations to stir things up prior to our expanded "police action." One thinks of the permanent air bases being built along the pipeline, far away from "the reason for our staying." The convenience of having to "stay the course" once the real shit starts to fly. That said, I believe the U.S. officer who noted that "this thing, the wheels are coming off of it" was dead on the mark. Emphasis on "dead." Because there's going to be a lot more of them. Whether we've been "assisting" in removing the wheels or not isn't going to make a hell of a lot of difference in the ugly, near future.

8. Hey, remember when the pentagon drew up plans before the war
To catch this Zarqawi guy, but the White House shitcanned them, because they thought catching him would undermine their case for war (because of they used his presence in northern, non-Saddam controlled, Iraq as "proof" of Iraqi links to terrorism)? Oh yeah, it happened a few times. Good Job, BushCo!

23. LOL! The Texan tin horn terrorist rides again!
BTW, does it even matter now if OBL is captured? This 'war' has gone so far past him for so long that he actually seems irrelevant.

I protest with Code Pink OC every Wednesday night. In the last few months, including tonight, we have gotten more and more positive reaction and more people showing up to protest with us.

20. Well, duh. But these guys aren't professionals like we are --
imagine: evacuating women and children. How ineffective! How nonaggressive! They say 'beware, there will be no mercy' and then introduce an element of mercy. They need to spend some time in Abu Ghraib to learn how to really run things.

25. 150 killed in Iraq attacks, Zarqawi declares war on Shiites
BAGHDAD (AFP) - About 150 people were killed in a devastating series of suicide car bombings and shootings in Iraq as Al-Qaeda frontman Abu Musab al-Zarqawi declared all-out war on Iraq's Shiite majority.

Rebels claiming to be from Zarqawi's group unleashed the carnage as Iraqi leaders announced the completion of a draft constitution to be put to a referendum in mid-October after weeks of tortuous negotiations.

The bloodiest strike came in the capital's Shiite district of Kadhimiyah, where at least 112 people were killed by a suicide car bomber, many of them day labourers who had gathered at dawn in the hope of employment.

29. lies and untruths.
if zarqawi even exists, if he is actually part of al qaeda. he would not be declaring war on shiites.

this is civil war. shia and sunni. if al qaeda is involved at all it is against the u.s. and perceived collaborators, not against the shia population.

this strains all credibility.

32. well, god knows the u.s. has killed plenty of shiites trying liberate them
free them from saddam, bring them democracy, etc.

why shouldn't zarquaqi{the real zarquaqi or the pentagons ministry of mythical bad guys version?} get to join in the fun?

iraq will be remembered and studied as much for it's horrifying looseness with the truth as anything else.
