Dollars accept plea in child torture case.
These 2 sick bastards are going away for 15 years. It doesn't say it in the article, but I just watched their sentencing on Channel 10 News, and they say they meant no harm, but they were disciplining the children the way they were taught on biblical principles.

Dollars accept plea in child torture case

The couple accused of torturing their adopted children accepted a deal Wednesday which calls for them to serve 15-year prison sentences.

John and Linda Dollar, the Citrus County couple accused of torturing five of their adopted children, accepted a plea bargain Wednesday afternoon that calls for them to each serve 15-year prison sentences and 15 years of probation.

Circuit Judge Ric Howard approved the deal during a hearing at the Citrus County Courthouse. The Dollars each pleaded no contest. They previously had pleaded not guilty to charges of aggravated child abuse and were awaiting an Oct. 31 trial.

John Dollar, 59, and his 52-year-old wife were arrested in February. Investigators say they removed their children's toenails with pliers, shocked them with a cattle prod, withheld food, forced the children to sleep in a closet, and otherwise abused them.

Dressed in red jumpsuits and chained at the waist, the Dollars admitted they let the situation get out of hand. The family lived in a secluded home and the children were home schooled, so no outsiders knew their conditions.

1. "Biblical principles"????
What's the chapter and verse of pulling out toenails or using a cattle prod? If they want to follow the Bible down to the letter, they wouldn't be using electricity, as it isn't mentioned there. They should be herders or maybe farmers, with slaves and the man having several wives.

Prisoners have their own code. They are either dead or will spend the next 15 years in a 8x10 24 hours a day.

3. Is this the starvation case which was all over the news last year?
The case which was discovered after a neighbor found one of the children (if memory serves,-a 57 pound 17 year old) digging in the garbage for food?

4. oh I wish I hadn't read this
_ I feel bad when I even raise my voice at my kid. Those poor kids. And weren't there some people arrested today who had kids in cages? Are these the same people?

8. No, these are different.
The kids in the cages were in Ohio. These were in Florida.

9. I can understand why parents lose it with their kids some times -
I work with teens and children, but for the life of me I cannot understand this level of cruelty. It is just mind-boggling. And you wonder how the adults were treated as kids, to be capable of treating their own this way. :(
