Blair says Iraqi bombings stress need for troops

LONDON, Sept 15 (Reuters) - British Prime Minister Tony Blair said on Thursday bombings in Baghdad in the past 48 hours in which more than 170 people had been killed underlined the need to keep foreign troops in Iraq.

"When a terrible terrorist attack happens ... the response has got to be let's see it through, not let's retreat," Blair, U.S. President George W. Bush's main ally on Iraq, told the BBC in an interview.

"British troops and American troops are there in Iraq today with U.N. backing, and we have to stay there and see it through and make sure the Iraqis are not driven off course," said Blair, who is in New York attending a U.N. conference.

More than 150 people were killed in a wave of bombings across the Iraqi capital on Wednesday, including 114 in a single attack. Suicide bombers killed 24 police in Baghdad on Thursday.

1. Right, Tony. Suit up the royal family and get their asses over there.
You and Bush drink from the same kool-aid pitcher.

6. With UN backing?
This needs an explaination. But of course, the UN is against the U.S.A. according to bush/bolton. How I wish we were not in this fight alone.
