Jeb Bush son arrested for public intoxication, resisting arrest
http://www.kltv.com/Global/story.asp?S=3861132

<snip>

"The youngest son of Florida Governor Jeb Bush was arrested early this morning and charged with public intoxication and resisting arrest.

Twenty-one-year-old John Ellis Bush is the nephew of President Bush.

Authorities say the younger Bush was arrested by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission at 2:30 a-m on a corner of Austin's Sixth Street bar district.

Bush was released on 25-hundred dollar bond for resisting arrest and personal recognizance bond for the public intoxication charge."

alcohol abuse as well. The "family values" bush family strikes again. Are there any of them that HAVEN'T been arrested for some thing or other? Really, I'd like to see the bush family "rap sheet", I'm sure it would be quite extensive and revealing.

135. It's time for..."Guess which Bush is in Jail!"
It's time for..."Guess which Bush is in Jail!"

Is it grandaddy Prescott Bush for illegally trading with the Nazis during WWII?

Is it daddy Bush for his Iran-Contra crimes?

Is it the man some call President of the United States for his drunken driving /vandalism convictions? (I'll leave out the AWOL part for the hard accuracy)

Is it Laura Bush for killing her ex-boyfriend?

Is it Jenna or Barbara, the Tequila Twins, for their numerous alcohol arrests and convictions?

Is it Jeb Bush's wife, Columba, who was convicted of smuggling diamonds into the U.S.?

Is it Jeb's son, George Pee Bush, for stalking an ex-girlfriend and convicted of vandalizing her house?

Is it Jeb's other son who was convicted of statutory rape and illegal sex with a minor?

Is it Kneel Bush, convicted of swindling millions of dollars in the Silverado Savings and Loan scandal of the 1980s?

EEEENNH wrong!

It's Jeb's daughter, Noelle, for using illegal drugs!

The Bush Family Evil Empire ... A family riddled with numerous repeated arrests, substance-abusing convicted criminals and jailbirds.

The Bush family .... U.S. family values at their best.

Guess they can update this list now, eh?

80. All of Jeb's kids have been arrested now.
What would the freepers say if Chelsae had been ticketed for an expired meter?

Something awful happens in a family where all the children grow up and are arrested. My guess is criminal neglect coupled with emotional abuse when one of the parents was sober and around.

134. That's why Jeb sez it's a "private matter"
It's ALWAYS a private matter whenever a Bush dynasty clan member gets in hot water or gets caught with a hand in the cookie jar. It gives a really bad impression of their "family values", you know, the type of values that tells them it's OK to try and interfere with a husband's right to choose for his brain dead wife, the kind of values that dictates to them the continued war on drugz should go on, the kind of values that makes it OK for Georgie to get a DUI and HIDE it from his daughters because he "did'nt want to give them a bad example" (or, in other words, was hoping it would just go away and tried to HIDE it from everyone else by LYING about it, since not being forthcoming and straight about such things basically amounts to LYING about it).

But no worries. Bush Dynasty clan members are above the law. While having this happen to one of us peasants would be a blight on our record, it won't stop one of these kids at all from persuing a 300,000K a year "consulting" job with one of daddy's buddies companies, and that is by the time they're 40 and decide to get a job at all.

on edit: did a google search and found out at one site that there were no charges filed in the accident.

resisted arrest. Makes me wonder how many times in the past the Austin police have tried to curtail Johnnie's drunken behavior w/o citing. Finally, the line in the sand has been drawn.

Somebody has to set down expectations for behavior if the parents won't.

Jorge P Bush got drunk and tore up his girlfriend's lawn in his SUV years back....1994. http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/georgep1.html

...George P. Bush might be a hunkalicious young Republican, but he still seems a bit creepy. So TSG wasn't too surprised to learn that "P" was involved in a troubling 1994 incident described in this Metro-Dade Police Department report. On December 31, 1994, Bush showed up at 4 AM at the Miami home of a former girlfriend. He proceeded to break into the house via the woman's bedroom window, and then began arguing with his ex's father. Bush, then a Rice University student, soon fled the scene. But he returned 20 minutes later to drive his Ford Explorer across the home's front lawn, leaving wide swaths of burned grass in his wake. Young Bush avoided arrest when the victims declined to press charges. (3 pages)

The gene pool in the Bush family is diluting dramatically.

So many of the next-generation Bushies are drunks, druggies, or screwups in some other fashion. They're even more unfit for public office than Boy George, & that's saying something!

12. The parent isn't necessarily responsible for the child's misbehavior
Nor should the parent necessarily be given credit for the child's good behavior.

Although in the case of the Bush family, the pattern seems clear.

105. Too cheap to get a room...they sure love those SUVs!!!
We've got a question for Florida Governor Jeb Bush: It's 10 p.m., do you know where your children are? Well, at that time on October 7, Bush's 16-year-old son John (aka Jebby, if you can believe it) was getting busy in a Jeep Cherokee in the parking lot of a Tallahassee mall. As this police report notes, a pair of nosy rent-a-cops caught Bush and a 17-year-old female companion fogging the car's windows--both were naked from the waist down, save Jebby's socks. The underage lovebirds, whose names were redacted from this document, were not charged, though officers made sure to note "the political ties of subject #1." Jebby--who's pictured on TSG's cover in a White House photo from grandpa George's reign--now joins brother George P. on the Sunshine State's police blotter. and not the Bush crime family. If Chelsea had been caught in the back of an SUV as a teenager you had bet Rush Limpballs and his ilk would still be all over it, claiming what failed parents the Clintons were and how their ambitions got in the way of raising a "moral" child, blah, blah, blah.

What happened about "waiting until marriage?"

25. Austin's paper:"He was observed to be a danger to himself and others"
http://www.statesman.com/metrostate/content/metro/stories/09/17bush.html

An affidavit on the public intoxication charge was not immediately available; according to an affidavit for the resisting arrest charge, Bush continually push against an officer for the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission as the officer attempted to handcuff him.

"Subject further resisted by pushing back with his body as he was restrained at the (Austin Police Department) transport van," the document said.

TABC Capt. David Ferrero said Bush approached a group of TABC and Austin police officers and asked about an earlier arrest of people he knew and was observed to be intoxicated. Agents did not know his identity until after they had arrested him and looked at his driver's license, which was issued from Florida.

Ferrero said while Bush was being arrested, he suffered a cut on his chin and was taken to Brackenridge Hospital, treated and released. He was then taken to the Travis County Jail. "He was observed to be a danger to himself and others," Ferrero said.

Approaching the drunk team while he's drunk to talk smack? Pushing the cops? Any place but Austin, and that hospital would have had to treat more than a cut on his chin.

Then again, Austin cops have been arresting Bushes for quite some time now.

Yeah, well, so was the Schiavo case, Jeb, and we saw how well you kept YOUR nose out of THEIR personal family matter...so fucking deal with it, OK??

http://www.gainesville.com/apps/pbcs.dll/article?AID=/20050916/APN/509161097

The 21-year-old nephew of President Bush was arrested by the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission at 2:30 a.m. Friday on a corner of Austin's Sixth Street bar district, said spokesman Roger Wade.

John Ellis Bush was released on $2,500 bond for resisting arrest, and on a personal recognizance bond for the public intoxication charge, officials said.

Alia Faraj, the spokeswoman for Jeb Bush said the incident "is a personal family matter" which the governor and his wife "are dealing with privately."

http://www.thesmokinggun.com/archive/jebby1.html

<snip>

"We've got a question for Florida Governor Jeb Bush: It's 10 p.m., do you know where your children are? Well, at that time on October 7, Bush's 16-year-old son John (aka Jebby, if you can believe it) was getting busy in a Jeep Cherokee in the parking lot of a Tallahassee mall. As this police report notes, a pair of nosy rent-a-cops caught Bush and a 17-year-old female companion fogging the car's windows--both were naked from the waist down, save Jebby's socks. The underage lovebirds, whose names were redacted from this document, were not charged, though officers made sure to note "the political ties of subject #1." Jebby--who's pictured on TSG's cover in a White House photo from grandpa George's reign--now joins brother George P. on the Sunshine State's police blotter."

141. Son of Florida Gov. Bush pushed officer, affidavit says

Son of Florida Gov. Bush pushed officer, affidavit says

The Associated Press
AUSTIN, Texas
The youngest son of Florida Gov. Jeb Bush continually pushed against an officer who was trying to handcuff him during his arrest on suspicion of public intoxication, according to an affidavit.

John Ellis Bush, 21, was arrested by agents of the Texas Alcoholic Beverage Commission at 2:30 a.m. Friday in Austin's Sixth Street bar district.

Bush had approached TABC and Austin police officers to ask about an arrest earlier of people he knew. Officers said he appeared intoxicated and could have posed a danger to himself and others, said TABC Capt. David Ferrero.

Alia Faraj, the spokeswoman for Jeb Bush, said Friday the incident "is a personal family matter" which the governor and his wife Columba "are dealing with privately." The governor's office didn't immediately return messages Saturday.

147. Sure wish I could say otherwise
If I were arrested under the same conditions, you know I would be serving 3-5 years for felony assault of a police officer...

151. "It's not like Democrats have never committed a crime"
I think the point is that this is supposed to be the party of responsibility. Remember the line about "now the adults are in charge". Hell, they can't control their kids, let alone a country.

152. Public Intoxication -- that's a mighty rare bust!
Has anyone (in the media) given a thought to just how messed up one has to be to be busted for public intoxication? Millions of people get drunk and are able to behave themselves in public every day. Maybe tens of millions. But it's the rare drunk who gets busted on a charge of public intoxication, because it's implicit that the bust be motivated by the drunk's public disorderliness and disruptiveness. And usually, the perp has also interfered with the cops doing their jobs in the first place.

Now, factor in race and class. How much more likely is an African-American, or someone who shows signs of not being affluent, to be arrested on a charge of public intoxication? Then turn it around -- how much LESS likely is it for a well-dressed, white, obviously rich man to be arrested for being drunk and disorderly?

"But Wait, There's More!"

As soon as the cops got a look at the perp's ID, it was obvious that they were dealing with the Governor's son. They would have been within their rights to just tell him to behave and let him go. So how much WORSE would have Jeb Junior had to act to earn a trip to the local police station?

I'll let YOU do the math and logic of this equation. But considering the circumstances of the arrests of Jeb's kids (all three have been arrested, including Noelle's felony drug arrest and conviction), it makes Dubya and Pickles' daughters look like angels.

I don't care who you are. You just don't go around messing with people and then mouthing off to cops. It's either a case where the cop doesn't deserve the grief, or the cop is too dangerous to cross. Jeb's kids aren't just spoiled brats, they're damn near suicidal.

155. Kick. I've been wondering when this brat's past would come out, but
now I know his present is still raunchy and nasty. I hope he gets jailed before they run him as a candidate. I'm so sick of the Bush dynasty. I thought we weren't supposed to have kings and queens and princes and such here in America.

Don't give him the "rehabilitation" option.

Treat him like we treat all the poor minorities.

167. Glass houses, stones, etc.

Before everyone starts pointing fingers, let's remember that our side has its issues as well:

DURHAM — The daughter of New Hampshire Gov. John Lynch was arrested on the University of New Hampshire campus Friday on two alcohol-related charges, according to university police.

Jacqueline R. Lynch, 19, a sophomore at the university, and another student, Adam Fenino, 19, of Canton, Mass., were arrested at midnight Friday on the sidewalk along Edgewood Road outside Congreve Hall, a student dormitory, police said. The two face charges of unlawfully possessing alcohol and having an open container. Both charges are violations.
