U.S. Willing to Give N.Korea Guarantees, Bush Says

Now I am pretty sure that we actually did sign a non-aggression act about a year or so ago but I can't find anything on it (maybe my memory hole).

The ONLY reason that NK stayed at the table when the Clinton administration was talking with them was the threat of military action.

That all Il-Jong understands. This is reverseing 50+ years of US foreign policy.

ABOARD AIR FORCE ONE (Reuters) - President Bush (news - web sites) said Wednesday the United States and its partners were all willing to sign a document declaring "we won't attack you" so long as North Korea (news - web sites) agrees to abandon its nuclear ambitions.

"I guess they're trying to stand up to the five nations that are now uniting in convincing North Korea to disarm and my only reaction is we'll continue to send a very clear message to the North Koreans," Bush said in Bali, Indonesia before flying to Australia.


Speaking with reporters later aboard Air Force One, Bush said the United States and its partners in the negotiations were "all willing to sign some sort of document -- not a treaty -- that says, 'We won't attack you.' But he needs to abandon his nuclear program in a verifiable way."

Why the hell does no one in the media have the balls to point out that Bush is now saying we took out Saddam Hussein on humanitarian grounds, but that when it comes to North Korea which is ruled over by a dictator, has almost the same population as iraq and is home to some of the worst human rights abuses outside of the US Department of Justice, that we go to a policy of appeasement?

Inspectors were telling us they couldnt find anything, the IAEA was saying there were no nukes in Iraq and here we have a guy actively telling us he is working towards making nuclear weapons and working on mid-range missile technology but we allow ourselves to be blackmailed into submission?

An unfucking-elected pResident threatening to unilaterally and illegally attack nations who don't fall in line with our (his) demands.
