US General won't be fired for Islam remarks -Pentagon

By Will Dunham

WASHINGTON, Oct. 22 — President George W. Bush said on Wednesday he disagreed with a senior Pentagon intelligence official's comments that Muslims worship an idol and not a ''real God,'' but a top aide to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld said there were no plans to fire the official.

Lawrence Di Rita, Rumsfeld's chief of staff, also praised Army Lt. Gen. William Boykin's ''very distinguished'' military career. He cited Boykin's statement last week embracing freedom of speech and freedom of religion, and said ''when you weigh the preponderance of all those things, nobody's thinking about asking him to step aside.''

Di Rita noted that Boykin, deputy undersecretary of defense for intelligence and war-fighting support, had requested an internal investigation into the propriety of his comments. (snip)

(snip) ''I said, 'He didn't reflect my opinion. Look, it just doesn't reflect what the government thinks.' And I think they were pleased to hear that,'' Bush told reporters afterward. (snip/...)

1. Of course he won't. He was placed there as a Bushevik Loyalist
He was placed there for some future purpose, asnd likely replaces a "purged" officer weho might one day be expected to behave as conscience dictates.

So Emperor Bunnypants* appoints General Crusader Rabbit.

General Crusader Rabbit isn't going anywhere, except perhaps to Imperial Amerika in 2010, where his religious belief will help him murder Free Americans without question or remorse.

2. Well did you think he would?
The right wing church goers would not like it. The people who think he was wrong will not vote for Bush anyhow. And the rest do not care.

3. Here's a guy who points to flaws on a photo, blown up to show

the audience that the mark on the photo is, in actuality, Satan!
This is an example of the Christian-Jihadists who run our military.
Islam worships idols? What's up with that? What idols? If idols
to which he refers are symbols of worship, there are more Crosses,
statues, holy cards, icons, rituals in Christianity than in any
other religion, and there is nothing wrong with this at all. To
stand up in a church in military dress to proclaim that Muslims are
pagans is heretical.

On the other hand, when he said that George W. Bush was not elected
by the American people, he regains sanity. However, re relapses into
senility once again on the preposterous statement that "God elected
GWB". sheesh--is that sick or what?

5. Muslims are not allowed to even create likenesses of living beings
That's why their art and architecture is all pattern based. Just on the facts alone, this General is completely wrong.

6. Boykin is truly one of the most dangerous wing-nuts in the ..
Pentagon, and the Pentagon is filled with many others just like him. He, and others of his ilk, are no different than bin Laden, or the mullahs. They are consumed by their religions, and their embrace of fascist ideologies. What does it say when the Pentagon refuses to fire this soldier? By not removing him, they are giving defacto support to his statements.

I'll bet radical Muslims all over the planet are running the videos of Boykin in the church. It's all coming down to a "Tom DeLay Christian wing-nut Crusade" isn't it? Encouraged and backed by conservative pro-Israel people, they are pushing us towards Armageddon. Of course, the Pentagon's business is fighting wars, and Boykin's statements will certainly fuel more of those, so it's no wonder they're happy with him. Hell, they'll probably give him a medal.

Too bad we couldn't put them all in something like the old Roman coliseums, give them each a sword and shield, and let them have at it, ... and then throw the "winners" to the lions.

9. --Groan--
Some Republicans have defended Boykin's remarks. In remarks on the floor of the House of Representatives, Rep. Mike Pence of Indiana said ''the general was right.''

"God is not neutral in this cause in the struggle between freedom and tyranny, between dictatorship and human dignity. Let it be said that in this Congress, God is on our side. And may it ever be so,'' Pence said.

--------------------------------
These SONS OF BITCHES! How dare they presume to speak for God! How do they know what God thinks, or whose side God is on?? It's time to call the bluff of these assholes. Schedule a Congressional Hearing. Set a date and call God as a witness so he/she/it can tell the American people exactly what is on his mind, ONCE AND FOR ALL! Tell all the faithful to pray for God to show up and testify. Make sure God and his faithful know that this is his chance to set us all straight. If he doesn't show, then we take "In God We Trust" off the coins, we take out "under God" from the pledge, and we can finally tell all the religious nuts who tell us what God wants us to do to F**K OFF!

What an @$$####. We're not worthy of having heaven's spokesman here to interpret divine will for us. We'd be lost without these super-men!

14. Of course not
The Bush* people either agree with him or simply don't care what others think about the US. They are either religous extremeists themselves and/or are imperilaists. Who needs allies when the goal is global hegemony?

15. This is strange for more reasons than one
At least 12-15 generals have been forced into early retirement - over what no one seems to know (by Rummy). And now you have this. Don't know for sure how I feel about him being fired only because there are many others over the years who have done the same or worse (in the religious vein), but when I think about Shimenski being forced to retire or be fired, then who knows? Maybe they all should tell Rummy where to go and retire - he always knows best. And no, I don't think it's right what Boykin did.

17. scroll back up and look at the eyes
take a good look. It's those same black, empty eyes that I've seen on Richard Perle.

It's spooky as hell. I don't know what to make of it.
