Blair 'relished sending troops in'
Tony Blair relished sending forces into action in Iraq, according to an account of a key aide's diaries.

Lance Price, the Prime Minster's former deputy media adviser, was reportedly ordered to amend the entry in his forthcoming book. But an original version has apparently been obtained by the Mail on Sunday newspaper, which is serialising his candid account of life in No 10.

"I couldn't help feeling TB was rather relishing his first blooding as PM, sending the boys into action," the Mail on Sunday's version says. "Despite all the necessary stuff about taking action 'with a heavy heart' I think he feels it is part of his coming of age as a leader."

Among the revelations are Mr Blair's "fear" of current Tory leadership challenger Ken Clarke.
