Rice 'listens' to al Qaeda like she read Marx; Bin Laden just 1 person
http://rawstory.com/news/2005/Rice_compares_Al_Qaeda_to_Mar_0917.html

When asked, "Tell us about Osama bin Laden and how important you think his personal capture would be. How thrilled are you going to be if you all leave office in '09 and he's still in a cave and the President's in Crawford?" the Secretary of State declared:

"Well, look, I would like nothing better to get the phone call that says we captured Osama bin Laden. I mean, in a sense, I think it’s, you know, it's a kind of issue of closure about-I was at the September 11 commemoration on Sunday and the one thing that did occur to me as I was talking to families as they came through is that, you know, I wish that there were more closure for what happened to us because what happened was that that launched a long war against terrorism, it launched a war to root out something that had been growing for a long time, and we're more at the beginning of that than at the end of it. And so I think in that sense it’s very important. And perhaps in terms of a kind of spiritual presence, philosophical presence in their movement, maybe it has—it probably has—but in terms of the operation itself, I've always argued, and I argued from the very beginning, and in fact, the fact that the President argues, reflected in his September 20 speech, we decided in that speech he'd only mention bin Laden once because nobody wanted to give the impression that this was about a single person."

Rice offered her own theory on why Iraq has become - as the CIA have described it - "the most important training ground for terrorism."

"The argument that I find rather bizarre is that somehow we created more of them by going after it, when, in fact, I think what had happened was that they had not been challenged. You know, they were—they essentially had not been challenged, not in a major way, even though this movement has been growing for some time. And now they’re being challenged."

She's freakin' batshit insane. I'm biting my tongue in half to keep from reeling off the expletive-filled tirade building in my throat.

That this was about one person? Check out September 12, 2001.
What were they saying then? OBL! That was it.

It was extrapolated into the horrific present we have.
But, oh yeah. YOUR administration blamed ONE PERSON.

These people are immoral to the core.

4. The Qaeda certainly does not exists...
Edited on Sun Sep-18-05 09:07 PM by StrafingMoose
or Rice doesn't know sh*t about it, I mean:

" And perhaps in terms of a kind of spiritual presence, philosophical presence in their movement :freak:, maybe it has—it probably has—but in terms of the operation itself"

When you get to use 'spiritual' and 'philosophical' to describe a bunch of hitmen it means; you don't know what you're talking about OR it just plainly doesn't exists the way BushCo explains it.

6. The arrogance of power is obvious.
Ms. Rice has been appointed to a position way beyond her competence level but will never realize that because the power has destroyed what little IQ she had before she was elevated to a position beyond her capablities.

11. the same could be said of every member of this so-called administration
Edited on Sun Sep-18-05 10:46 PM by anotherdrew
you hit the nail on the head there. There have been scientific studies recently of incompetence, not surprisingly they found that the less-competent at something a person is, the less ability they have to realize it, and in time become increasingly confident of their dubious 'abilities'. Give such a person a bit of a controlling nature and give them some power and everyone around them ends-up gone or fluffing their inflated ego ever further. What's more, since they have such great 'abilities' already, they then think, "I don't need to waste time learning more about this stuff, I already know everything."

This process should be called: run-away bush syndrome

And she cannot even come up with a complete sentence.

7. Hmm... a not very clever attempt...
... to continue to tie al-Qaeda to Iraq, it seems: "The argument that I find rather bizarre is that somehow we created more of them by going after it,..."

Going after "it," of course, in Iraq, where it previously didn't exist.

And, how exactly, is an invasion of Afghanistan, with tens of thousands of troops, bombings of training camps (and anything else around, for that matter--civilians, sheep, you name it), torture of prisoners, not challenging al-Qaeda in the spot where it had taken root?

There is no logic in this--it's all smoke and mirrors.

Listen to Condi's shoes. They speak a whole lot more truth than her mouth does. She'll say anything because they take her where she wants to be. And where she is, is a sad place for her and a dangerous one for the rest of us.

15. Rice was hired based on her expertise in Russian History
Yet according to my daughter who has been working in Moscow for the past 4-years, when Rice went on her Russian visit as a Representative of George W. Bush and the American Peoples, she was so incompetant as a Russian speaker and in Russian protocol that her hosts and those allowed within speaking distance of her were embarrassed for her. She made terrible faux-paus in the language as well as Russian protocol. US personnel were ashamed that she was sent to represent them and their country.

Where does Rove/Cheney/Bush get these incompetants?

16. I remember reading about Condi's not knowing even her supposed specialty
in Russian history. Maybe it was via Noam Chomsky. As for where al-Bushda finds such people, remember that loyalty and money trump literally anything else as qualifications for, well, any position in the administration. If a John Roberts type could have been found for Condi's role, he would have been considered. No one questions Roberts' competence; it's his hidden agenda that's in question. Apparently, no competent person could be found trustworthy enough to satisfy the Bushistas' requirement for unquestioning loyalty to the party line and obedience to the chain of command. Ergo, Condi as secretary of state.

I've known many Ph.D.s who are idiots savants, experts in their narrow specialties but clueless in seeing the total picture and their place in it, embarrassingly lacking in interpersonal skills and relying on bullying arrogance to substitute for genuine ability. As Einstein said, education is what you have left after you've forgotten everything you learned in school.

24. What a marooooon....
It's not that she has a problem with the English language, it's just that she has a problem speaking the truth. Hence the repeating of certain words and phrases, and the constant stuttering.

People generally don't stutter as much (Well...I, uh, I have) when they are telling the truth, because the truth is not something that needs to be thought about.

It just comes naturally.
