Ex-Tyco executives get up to 25 years in prison
Kozlowski, Swartz punished for stealing hundreds of millions of dollars

NEW YORK - L. Dennis Kozlowski, the former CEO of Tyco International, was sentenced Monday to eight and one-third years to 25 years in prison Monday for stealing hundreds of millions of dollars from the company.

His codefendant, former Tyco finance chief Mark Swartz, received the same sentence, which means they will be eligible for parole after eight years and four months.

The judge also ordered them to pay a total of $134 million in restitution. In addition, Kozlowski was fined $70 million and Swartz $35 million.

28. Yes, but with the possibility of parole early. Meanwhile, pot smokers
get mandatory 25 years if caught. these corporate scumbags ruin many lives and the lives of whole families and they seem to get away with it eventually.

31. Yes, eight to 25 means probably 3 and a half. NOT ENOUGH.

2. Where's Kenny-Boy?
Time for the Enron Crime Family to get theirs. They're probably still taking limos to the polo matches.

The Tyco verdict shows it can be done, and maybe it's a precedent of prosecuting business abuse.

Ebbers just got too close to the heat is all. If would more detached he could of been a GOP running mate like Uncle Dicky.

18. This is GREAT news. Enjoy it for now.
These people should get LIFE. Bank robbers get about $600 when they hold up a teller. These guys should get a proportionate sentence based on how much they stole.

In other words, infinity in jail for them.

Let's savor this victory instead of thinking about the worst outcome.

May they rot in jail.
