Tories Demand Independent Inquiry into Iraq War
Tories today called for an independent judicial inquiry into the war against Iraq to clear up “confusion” over the Government’s credibility.

Tory deputy leader Michael Ancram said the current stream of allegations was damaging to ministers and the national interest.

Warning that the questions would not go away, he said only a judicial inquiry would dig out the truth.

The party in Britain that usually CLAMORS for war, and whose leaders can't get enough of war (Falklands; Desert Storm), is now going after Tony Blair and his Cabinet. Iraq is not a situation the Tories would have avoided; it's one they would have PLUNGED HEADLONG INTO even quicker--and with even less reservations--than did Blair and Labourites allied with him. Whaaaaaat hypocrisy on their part! :eyes:

Unlike Dub vis-a-vis Clinton, all Tony Blair has to say in this case is "Remember the days of Dame Thatcher and John Major", and people will flock back to the Labour fold!

B-)
