Katrina survivor dies days after rescue from New Orleans home

LOS ANGELES - A 74-year-old survivor of Hurricane Katrina who was trapped in a New Orleans home for nearly two weeks has died of complications related to dehydration and malnutrition, the California National Guard reported Monday.

Edgar Hollingsworth, an Army veteran of the Korean War, died Saturday at a New Orleans area hospital, Air Force Capt. Brenda Hendrickson of the California National Guard told The Associated Press by phone from Louisiana. He had been found four days earlier buried under a pile of rubble.

i haven't seen my friend who died in the evacuation counted

haven't seen a list of names at all but the parish he died & buried in has reported zero fatalities so i know he ain't on it

i think if you get out even for a few hrs you won't be counted

those who died on the scene will add up to quite a huge toll as it is

11. FEMA is not allowing rescuers to break into homes! that's why.

In the past few days, the Federal Emergency Management Agency has ordered searchers not to break into homes. They are supposed to look in through a window and knock on the door. If no one cries out for help, they are supposed to move on. If they see a body, they are supposed to log the address and move on.

So, will they be allowed to enter homes to search for the dead?

and did break into his house, will be pallbearer. Saved him from dying alone.
