Citizens Outraged about Katrina to Confront Norquist on His Home Turf
Citizens outraged about Katrina and a truck-based mobile billboard sponsored by Working Assets will show up outside the office of Bush administration advisor Grover Norquist as DC's top radical-right policy-makers arrive for their weekly strategy meeting.

The billboard image juxtaposes Norquist's well-known quote from a May 2001 NPR interview with an image of the flooded city of New Orleans. In the interview, Norquist stated: "My goal is to cut government...down to the size where we can drown it in the bathtub."

The citizens' group is expected to include many young voters who will confront meeting attendees, asking them to take some responsibility for the nation's worst natural disaster. They will hold placards with slogans like "Make Levees, Not War" and "Small Government? Big Disaster."

"Hurricane Katrina is not only a national tragedy, it is also exhibit A of the devastating human consequences of the radical right's anti-government agenda," said Andrew Boyd, a campaign organizer with Working Assets. "By taking this action, we're saying Katrina was in large part a man-made disaster, and two of the men who made it were Grover Norquist and George W. Bush."

The billboard will be circling through DC the entire week, shadowing Norquist and visiting other political hot-spots.

Norquist is the soul of the neo-GOP, the public deserves to understand that, and all that it implies.

No, it won't change his mind. He's sure he's "right." The ASSHOLE. All those deaths are on HIS hands, and on HIS soul (assuming he has one, that is).

That greedy, selfish cheapskate grover norquist can rot in the lowest level of HELL. ALONE. For ALL eternity. He's the poster boy for what's wrong with this country. Mr. "I, Me, Mine." Mr. IGMFU.

Go FUCK yourself, grover...

And the whores you rode in on.

nasty rot that has ever crawled from the sewer to attempt to walk upright.

His agenda to destroy this country and his "hard work" to do so should get him a trial for treason.

14. Grover details Republican plan -- PBS interview
Grover details the Republican 50 year plan to drown the federal government, and talks about what the role of the federal government will be in the New United States, in this half-hour Fresh Air interview, PBS.
http://www.npr.org/templates/story/story.php?storyId=1452983

The host starts out by mentioning Paul Krugman's statement that the Bush administration will push the deficit so high it will be “forced” to dismantle the federal government.

The NUSA (NEW United States of America)

Federal government services will be limited to:
1.Defense.
2.Governmental state and local police with arrest powers.
3.Courts mostly to protect property rights.

The states:
The country will still be comprised of states. The states will become competitive. Citizens will be able to move to the states that offer the most goodies, (provided they are rich enough).

Grover’s most intriguing observation:
The government could cut back Defense to about 20% and still be able to run the planet.

24. I have them too!
Hubby wants to get the 3 cents a minute plan from MCI or Verizon, but Working Assets is only 7 cents a minute and I can call my Mom in Canada!
You can round up your bill to give to different progressive causes if you want and I always feel better doing that. It's a small thing, but supporting progressive causes is important, and if I can do it with my long distance then it's worth the few pennies more!
I wish more people used them, but they don't advertise - I got my solicitation through the mail, obviously b/c I'm on all the lefty lists.

:hi:

19. I have been hoping somebody, ANYBODY would take it to Norquist.
He remains in the background, because the media conveniently ignores him--no matter that he's one of the foremost conservative powerbrokers in the country (not to mention just a downright despicable individual).

I think it's a marvelous idea to picket the shit out of him at his office or anywhere he goes to speak, meet or otherwise draw breath. This creep has no right to remain in the shadows.

49. There probably aren't so many people who would recognize him yet.......
AND, Democrats aren't known for assassinating figures of the opposition in order to get ahead. That seems to be a right-wing refuge. No doubt his face should be posted more often in order for him to reap the elaborate harvest of praise he so richly has earned from the American public when he passes through the streets!
