U.S. senator calls for army general to step aside - GOP Warner
U.S. senator calls for army general to step aside amid investigation of his religious comments.

The chairman of the Senate Armed Services Committee called for the temporary reassignment of a top Defense Department official who made church speeches casting the war on terrorism in religious terms.

Republican Senator John Warner said Tuesday that Lieutenant General William G. Boykin should step aside during an investigation of Boykin's comments. Defense Secretary Donald H. Rumsfeld on Tuesday announced an inspector general's inquiry, saying Boykin requested one.

Warner and the top Democrat on the committee, Senator Carl Levin, wrote to Rumsfeld Friday asking for an investigation. Warner said on the Senate floor that he kept quiet about that request until Tuesday so as not to put too much pressure on Rumsfeld.

3. You're lucky - he's my Senator
And 99 out of 100 times, I don't agree with him either. At least he responds to my faxes and emails - the other excuse for a Senator, Allen, doesn't even respond to anything.

Has Boykin pissed off the repukes somehow? Casting the war on terrorism in religious terms doesn't count (for the repukes anyways). Is Boykin a Democrat?

5. The other senator here, Carl Levin, is my senator
And the Detroit area has THE largest concentration of Muslims in the country. The largest outside of the Middle East, I believe.
John
Levin is Jewish, BTW. Detroit-area Muslims and Jews get along very well -- I wish the Middle East would take a lesson from them.

6. Well, so Sen. Military Industrial Complex himself is calling for that
Christian nazi to step down. I couldn't beleive that video footage of him in the church. Indeed, we have our own bin Ladens, and there seems to be an abundance of them in the military. Holy warriors?

9. Bokin is the perfect model for the regime

...he is operating at the level of propaganda they want. I think they should keep him right out front where he belongs. He's a free advertisement for the total incompetence at the top of this regime.
