Ex-CIA Officers Want Senate to Probe Leak
WASHINGTON - Two former CIA (news - web sites) officers are asking the Senate Intelligence Committee to open its own investigation into who leaked the identity of an undercover officer.

Jim Marcinkowski, a case officer from 1986 to 1989, said a congressional investigation will be needed to demonstrate the credibility of an investigation now under way by the Justice Department (news - web sites).

<snip>

Marcinkowski said he wants to stress to the committee that the leak was an "unprecedented and extremely egregious act." He said he wanted to urge the committee "to say, 'We're going to look at this because it's important.'"

Johnson said: "When you start outing clandestine officers for political reasons, that has to be stopped."

2. Think THIS one will catch fire? What the hell is it going to take?

Ashcroft is trying his best to bury the thing. Bush runs around hiding from the press (except for his "chosen few"), and he continues to get away the literal bloody murder. Thus far, no one seems to give a shit. Our wonderful Congress, continues to rubber stamp all his demands (and that goes for the Dems too!), the media licks his boots, and Ma & Pa American, simply don't give a shit.

WTF is it going to take?

:wtf: :grr:
