Bradley R. Hiller won't be idle while serving his prison term.
In sentencing the former Republican insider, a Marion Superior Court judge ordered Hiller to help clean up the books of the Indiana Senate Republicans' fundraising committee, from which he stole money.
Judge Mark Stoner told Hiller, 33, he would facilitate Hiller's movement to and from prison to the Marion County Jail so he can help the caucus account for $146,775 in spending Hiller oversaw without getting receipts.

"You can't steal this amount of money and not go to prison," said Stoner, who mostly hears cases involving felony thefts of $300 or less.
Hiller, formerly of Mooresville, became physically ill after the judge imposed the sentence. He was then placed in handcuffs by a sheriff's deputy.

Marion Superior Court Judge Mark Stoner ordered Bradley R. Hiller, 33, to begin serving his sentence immediately.
Hiller, formerly of Mooresville, was placed in handcuffs by a Marion County sheriff's deputy moments after he grabbed a trash can in the court room to throw up.
During sentencing, Stoner said he hopes Hiller's prison term would send a message to the "political culture."
Deputy Prosecutor Rom Byron, who described Hiller as "unrepentant,"said he was pleased with the outcome.
