New Orleans Mayor Says FEMA Made Promises That Weren't Kept
September 27, 2005

NEW ORLEANS -- New Orleans Mayor Ray Nagin said Tuesday it's "unbelievable" to hear the outgoing head of the Federal Emergency Management Agency try to deflect the blame.

He also said he doesn't know what Michael Brown meant when Brown Monday described Louisiana as dysfunctional during Hurricane Katrina.

Brown, testifying to a House panel, said state and local officials bear much of the blame for government failures in responding to the storm.

In response, Nagin said, "We were saving lives, rescuing people, trying to evacuate them. It was hectic." He told reporters, "the feds, local, state, all across the board, did not have the processes to deal with a storm of this magnitude."

Nagin also told reporters that "things spiraled" after FEMA officials made promises that "weren't kept."

2. Blanco is testifying tomorrow
When they can Blanco and Nagin have been fighting back but of course the M$M barely covers it when they do.

6. Yes! Drownie wants to take every one

down with his sinking ship.

Nagin was there in the heat of battle, trying to hold his city together without help from the outside.

Drownie was in his cushey office, feet on the desk and planning lunch with the Chimp.

Drownie and Drunkie ,two little idiots in charge of the lives of so many.

Shame

13. Must've been reading an advance copy of gorgonzola rice's biography.
I sense a pattern here.

Trouble is, the democratic leadership doesn't - they happily approved rice's appointment, instead of recommending she do prison time.

7. Brown has been "let go" before. He received this particular job
because he was the college roommate of the last FEMA director. Brown probably couldn't keep a job working at a shopping mall.
