El Al flight threat still a mystery - Israel passenger jet

Hamilton — Four Canadian agencies were investigating a threat made against an Israeli passenger jet that was diverted Thursday to Hamilton, away from its intended destination of Toronto's Pearson International Airport.

"The matter is now being investigated by the RCMP, CSIS, Transport Canada and the Peel regional police," Transport Minister David Collenette said Thursday in Ottawa.

Mr. Collenette refused to discuss the nature of the threat, other than to say it was "specific to the El Al flight."

Tactical police teams rushed Thursday morning to meet the El Al 767 when it landed at John C. Munro International Airport at 11 a.m.
