2. And things are supposed to be getting better?
Edited on Sat Oct-25-03 10:03 PM by teryang
The average number of daily attacks has doubled.

Total coalition dead over 400, American wounded closing in on 2000.

The increasing number of casualties viewed in light of the recent Iraqi poll portends a grim future for Americans in Iraq.

3. I think it's getting worse fairly quickly.
Starting to see tactical changes, more elaborate attacks, some
of the arms used are changing, or the mode of employment is more
sophisticated.

And the fellows supposed to be running the show seem focused
on the idea it's primarily a public relations issue. Its really
much too late and too fucked up to expect to get by on that alone.

I can smell logisitics issues but facts are not to be had.
It would help a lot in evaluating the situation if one had straight
facts on the resupply situation with respect to various critical
items, but that information will not be bandied about. I would
wager, however, that a fairly large portion of that $87B is just to
buy stuff as fast as it can be turned out.

Still, experience would suggest that they will remain in denial as
long as possible. The point at which withdrawal occurs is just
shortly before one will be kicked out if one does not.

I wonder at what point, if ever, it will dawn on them that they are
not smarter than the fellows fighting against them?

Meanwhile, I expect a lot of old hands in Russia are having a drink
or two and enjoying the show.

4. Summer's over
My guess is that Iraqis couldn't fight in that heat, either. So, a combination of more time to regroup and gather strength plus the letup in the heat has resulted in the ability of attackers to coordinate more effective assaults.
