What Will Iraq Cost Bush?
Even administration insiders are starting to worry about how the war will affect the president’s re-election chances. In New Hampshire, the omens aren’t reassuring

Hilary Cleveland of New London, N.H., goes way back with the Bush family. Her late husband, James Colgate (Jimmy) Cleveland, was a Republican in Congress, where his paddle-ball partner in the House gym was George H.W. Bush. Hilary served on the Andover board with Barbara Bush and was finance chair of Bush’s primary campaign in New Hampshire in 1980. She organized locally for George W. in 2000. But the other day, upset over the war in Iraq, she left the Republican Party, changing her registration to “undeclared” so she could vote for Dr. Howard Dean in the Democratic primary in January. “You don’t go to war without valid reason,” she said, “or international support.” Bush’s call for $87 billion in new spending on Iraq offended her Yankee sense of thrift: “I believe in fiscal integrity and balanced budgets, and spending so much doesn’t seem sound.”

I would never click on Whorie Fineman but God must have directed me there because this link has a direct Feedback embedded within the article.

Please at least ask the editors/management to fire Fineman for gross bias and lying for the Bush. Adm.

Thankyou!

1. Bravo, Ms. Cleveland
you are putting your country above your party; something rarely seen in republicans. You did the right thing switching.

6. calling ANY of the bushies reptiles is a gross unjustice to reptiles...
...at least reptiles are part of the natural order. ANY AND ALL members of that most unholy family bear no semblance to anything natural or normal.

5. Infamy for him and his clan
This should cost him all credibility and an irrepairably reveal some of the evil things for which he will be held accountable. Brand him a traitor. Make him a new fable to pass down for ages to come. Let his name go down in history as the worst US president ever.

May he spend the rest of his life hiding under a rock.

7. Remember........God chose Bush to smite Iraq
As long as lots of people (Boykin and others) continue to believe this craziness Bush will feel that he is a brave and courageous man to do what he did. The people killed, the money........all of it necessary because it was God's will!

9. "What will Iraq Cost Bush?"
Not a damn thing. Georgie and his tribal members could care less of what, where or how history portrays them. They have no thought of giving back to the country that has given them so much. He will return to Texas, donate the house in Crawford- which was only built and used to portray Georgie as a bonifide Texas cowboy - or establish it as his Presidential museum and he will then return to the same useless life as a very rich old kid who left a wake of disaster throughout his life.

Does anyone honestly think that Georgie or any of his family members really give a damn what anyone thinks of them????

11. I agree, Bush will pay nothing for his folly
Others have died, and will continue to die, for this criminal invasion and occupation of Iraq. Electing a Democrat to the White House will not stop the carnage, UNLESS that Democrat has the balls to withdraw all US troops and personnel immediately and unconditionally. Failure to do so, will turn this Republican neocon war into a Democratic war. is that what we want?

10. what will it cost him?
Let's hope it's his pResidency.

Again, it's important to recall that Busch is not really a Rim-publican. Democrats have historically called for more spending and subsequently more social spending programs. Ream-publicans have always called for less spending, and consequently less money spent on welfare, subsidized housing, etc.

So what we're seeing now is NOT the republican party. And by the way, it's a "replica" of the Reagain administration. That administration used the republican premise of less spending on social programs, but at the EXPENSE of a massive buildup of the military. And a huge favoritism of the rich. That's exactly what we're seeing now.

Reagan did not like any money being spent on the everyday Joe, because any more $$ in Joe's hands meant an increase in inflation.

So what we have here is a MILITARY complex, similar to the one in the USSR.

And we know what ultimately happened to that one.

12. EVERYTHING, I hope.
1 (800) 839 - 5276 - the TOLL FREE CAPITOL HILL SWITCHBOARD NUMBER. First thing in the morning (Monday), call it and they'll transfer you to ANYBODY'S office in the Senate or the House. Demand an end to the war, AND a Special Prosecutor for Traitor-gate!

We HAVE TO keep the drum beat going - and the pressure on! We ABSOLUTELY, URGENTLY, CRITICALLY MUST do this! If the news keeps up on Iraq, and the stink starts to increase about all the scandals, next November's election results won't be close enough to manipulate, or steal.

13. I don't give a damn what it costs "Slimy Shrub"
I care about what it costs our country and our people - in lives, taxes, prestige and the years to come. This is a disaster - bush should have to at least live in exile at Crawford for the rest of his life - he hates it there and so does his family.

15. if Bush isn't tried and convicted of war crimes and treason
then it cost him nothing, and cost the entire US it's integrity, it cost the Iraqis thousands of innocent lives, it cost the military and the families the lives of hundreds of soldiers, this above and beyond the billions of dollars. :grr: :argh:

so he's ousted...the dead won't come back to life.

yeah, I want him gone...but others have still paid the higher price for Shrub's stupidity.
