55. Bush Fundraising from Call Center in India--

wonder why none of the Democratic candidates hasn't picked up on
this fact. When Bush is asked about jobs leaving the U.S.
Something very unAmerican about doing that--for a President.
Another new low.

34. No, see, he never actually "said" it was imminent. Oh, he implied...
... the HELL out of it, but he never actually SAID it. So he can SAY now that he always just MEANT a "gathering" threat... you know, in say, 10 or 50 or 1000 years the threat will "gather" up enough strength to harm us.

Just like saying "Iraq WAS a threat" (which he forcefully stated during the press conference). He just left out the words "very small". "Iraq was a very small threat" just doesn't have the same "ooomph!".

Pathetic. When he said "gathering", he even made some reference to "that's the word", making it transparently obvious that he's been coached to use certain words and has little to no understanding of what's going on. He's done the same thing in other press conferences, and he did the same thing at another point in this one... something about "we call it 'cassus belli'... cause for war". The condescending little twerp doesn't realize that just because Condi and Dick have taught him a few words, it doesn't mean he can speak down to the Washington Press Corps. They are 100 times more informed than him on these issues.

with Shrub, Cheney, Rumdum, Condi, whoever trots it out.

misAdmin: "We never said there was an imminent threat. Check the transcripts."

press: "Then if the threat was not imminent, why are we at war? Why are people being killed?"

Has he ever had a press conference in prime time? I suspect they schedule them in the afternoon so no one will see them, except us and concerned home keepers. How do we get past this kind of manipulation?
Can we somehow embarras the media into showing this incompetence.? We are talking about the future of the greatest country on earth here.We are Americans, we should be able to find a way to save our Country. How do we out this cabal?

Bush just oozed hostility, vindictiveness, and testiness today. His humor is invariably veiled hostility -- or not so veiled, as in the "face for radio" comment and the withdrawn invitation to lunch. If he were a woman, we'd all be saying, "What a bitch!"

news conference he has done. I'm glad the reporters were asking some of the questions they did, but by his response it just goes to show he has no idea what he is doing.

He keeps saying 9-11, 9-11, 9-11, but why doesn't anyone remind him that we also had a horrible terroist attack in '95 called "Okalhoma City" and that was done by a deranged American soldier. Bush acts like 9-11 was the first terroist attact the US has ever had and now he must reconfigure the whole world to make us safe. This is preposterous.

Let's get to the real tough questions shall we and not these scripted one.

68. Bush looks like a whipped puppy.
I viewed the c-span replay without sound while on the phone.
No leader demeanor there.

70. Someone was telling Bush what to say
Hi there,

If you watch the press conference Bush gave today, you'll see that he makes obvious, long pauses in the middle of his sentences. He ends phrases frequently, pauses for a few seconds, before restarting talking immediately to finish the sentence.

In some instances, he interrups himself every five seconds, as if listening, before restarting to talk.

Notice also that he has a microphone in his ear. I suspect a lot that someone is dictating him what to say.

Even the jokes against the journalists were told in the same monotone tone, exactly as if he was repeating text from someone else.

Another point: when he names journalists, he often doesn't point to them, just cites their names and actually avoids looking at them before they start asking their question.

Did anyone else get the impression he was repeating what he was being told ?
