<snip>
FALLUJAH, Iraq - Insurgents attacked a freight train with an improvised bomb Thursday, setting four containers on fire and setting off a spree of looting by residents, witnesses said.

The attack occurred on a rail line four miles west of Fallujah against a train that carries freight, mostly for the U.S. military, from this city to Haditha, about 135 kilometers to the northwest.

1. Like how they're using the word "insurgents".
How can they possibly know at this point whether they are "insurgents" or not! Looks like Chimpy is getting his way and blaming all the horrible stuff going on over there on "insurgents".

Of course it's not the Iraqi's they are of course still throwing roses at our feet, thanking us for "liberating" them.

2. Better than terrorists
That's the word we can't be allowed to be used in this. People know all about insurgents, at various points in Vietnam they were called insurgents. Insurgents means people fighting for their country and whether we agree or disagree with their philsophies, sooner or later people in the U.S. will not be willing to allow our kids to die if the majority of Iraqi's are 'insurgents'. And kids, we need to stop calling them troops and soldiers and start calling them our kids. I think that made a difference during Vietnam too.

3. I'm surprised * didn't call them "Syrians."
Question with a paragraph in this piece:

The number of U.S. soldiers killed in combat since
President Bush declared that major fighting had ended
surpassed the wartime total with the deaths of two soldiers
whose Abrams battle tank was bombed late Tuesday.

I thought we had passed the wartime total a few weeks ago. Does this mean the total actually killed in agressive action, not including non-combat related deaths?

7. Back in Nam
We used choppers to transport everything. Rumsfield is to cheap to do that in Iraq.
