AP) Pastor Urges Microsoft Stock Buy-And-Dump
Jan 25 2006

By RACHEL LA CORTE
Associated Press Writer

OLYMPIA, Wash.

A pastor who threatened a national boycott against Microsoft and other major corporations for supporting a gay rights bill urged people Tuesday to buy up the companies' stock and dump it to drive prices down.

Rev. Ken Hutcherson, pastor of Antioch Bible Church in the Seattle suburb of Redmond, said the stock-dumping plan had been his strategy all along.

"You got to find out how you affect a company," Hutcherson said, conceding that it would be hard to get people to shun products from companies that dominate the marketplace as Microsoft and Boeing do.

He wants supporters to buy one or two shares over the next few months, then sell them May 1.

27. If EFF or EPIC were advocating a stock dump, it'd be Gitmo for sure

However, these are bush-supporting mullahs delivering an economic fatwah against tolerance of homosexuals, so it's okay.

Can't use Apple OS because Steve Jobs is a dirty Satan-loving Democrat.

Can't use Linux because Linus Torvalds is a furrener (from one of those buttsex loving Commie Scandinavian countries).

Hmmm...I wonder what fundies will use. :D

drive me up the wall. I have told my wife that I will not go to church with her because of all the stupidity. FYI, she is a Christian that doesn't understand why all of her right wing nuts get all of the attention.

11. Buy ONE or TWO shares???? hahahaha - moron
Obviously knows nothing about actually buying stocks.

Pray tell Good Reverend, how does one of your non-brokered flock go about buying a single share of stock?? (I know how to do it, but only an idiot would bother).

I'm sure that a share here and there will REALLY TEACH MS A LESSON!

"As of September 9, 2005, there were 10,659,471,791 shares of Microsoft common stock outstanding."

What a dipshit.

17. This is a black pastor I once saw interviewed
I saw him interviewed on BET I think it was. The interviewer kept saying, "Hmmmmm...", as he was not very convinced. I think this guy is getting his palms greased big time by the GOP, not to mention he's getting that nice cushy nest egg called, "faith-based $."

why must these right-wing religious fanatics be given so much attention? They would be accomplishing precisely jack and shit if they got the minimal news media attention they deserve.

22. I think neocons are trying to destroy microsoft. Cause it is too soft.
They don't like the corporations that are transparent and real and try and make the world a better place. Kinda like going into Iraq and taking out all the oil. Or banning beef & softwood from Canada and then going in and buying up cattle or lumber mills at rockbottom prices. Perhaps Halliburton or some such entity already has it in mind to be the microsoft for the religious of the world. And all they have to do it attack Bill Gates enough - and 1/2 those profits are theirs.

make a dent.
Plus, since we all now know about it, they will be bought up immediately. I guess he forgot that Capitalists only care about the bottom line.

34. The Bush Administration uses this term quite loosely
people now a days who are disruptive of the political process, or use civil law suits, or boycotts to piss off the "powers to be" can be charged with stuff like "domestic" terrorism or
"civil" terrorism or "economic" terrorism so the powers to be can shut them, put them away and send a chill to the rest of the dissenter.

Bout time we turned that around on them.

Unless this chruch has about ten thousand members,
then I suspect they don't have enough economic muscle to make a differencecompared to the institutional investors. I hope they do it and pay outrageous brokerage fees in the process. If the members are poorer from losing money on stock deals, maybe this hateful man will go out of business.
