http://www.hipakistan.com/en/detail.php?newsId=en44843&F_catID=&f_type=sourceBefore launching attack on Iraq, President Bush had made the world believe that Iraq was the greatest threat to humanity. He said it was a symbol of terrorism as it had gathered weapons of mass destruction. With no such weapons recovered, America’s image has been badly tarnished and now there is a general consensus that the entire drama was staged to perpetuate American imperialism on the Muslim World.
George W. Bush feels genuinely convinced that his father - the elder Bush -had been defeated in the Presidential elections due to the loss of Jewish votes. So, the present incumbent is trying desperately hard to safeguard his power base. This primarily consists of the wealthy Americans, the ultra wing of the Republican Party and the increasingly influential and rich Christian church. To ensure good will and cooperation of these elements, George W. Bush has rolled his foreign policy and domestic politics into one, little caring for the consequences.
Bush has embarked upon implementing his agenda which is likely to help him in winning the election. To begin with, he would like Yasser Arafat to be ditched if not physically eliminated. Bush also seems fully determined to scorn the UN as it hinders exercise of unilateralism. In addition, Bush feels fully determined to send a message to the world abroad that any country whose policies run counter to American thinking will be severely dealt with. If that country persists to “misbehave”, it would be subjected to regime change.
It is interesting to note that the September 11 tragedy is playing into the hands of neo-conservatives, to advance their agenda. The “myth” of imperialism is being taken out of obscurity and is being given a “local habitation, and a name”.

Hmmm. Another country Bushco is endearing to us.
