2. Actually, it didn't occur to me. Friday is Islam's day of worship.

I wonder if the fundie Christian's would abstain from harm on their Holy day edit: Sunday)? I'm a liberal Christian, so harm is not part of my agenda. This does add a layer of intrigue, that he arrive on a Fri. He sounded so brave to go, which if he were really brave, he would have served his time in VAN.

3. The most powerful man in the world?
.
.
.

feared, hated maybe . . .

but

From the posted article:

"Thousands of security personnel including from the army and police were deployed in Islamabad for the security of Bush, Pakistan's the News reported today. A U.S. security team has arrived in Islamabad to supervise the security measures, it said."

THOUSANDS to "protect" the BoyKing from "Pakistan, a key ally in the war on terrorism" (from the same posted article)

Is there ONE country out there waiting desperately to shower this demagogue with flowers and candy?

just ONE maybe??

6. I think it is his rock bottom poll numbers.
He has to do something to shore up his politically weak position. I contrast his trip to Pakistan with the precautions taken when a small plane has inadvertantly flown into D.C. airspace.

9. They can get it together for a nationiwde strike even with a military ...
... dictatorship. What does that say about Americans? I DREAM of a day that people (and organized labor) in this country had their shit together enough to do this!

10. I'm very puzzzled why Pakistan has okayed a Bush visit especially
Edited on Fri Mar-03-06 11:41 PM by Hoping4Change
on the heels of the cartoon crisis. It seems like the visit would just be handing ammo over to extremists.

12. How much does it cost these countries
to allow this idiotic war monger to visit? I'd make him pay for it--with his own money--or tell him to stay home. "Give me a call if you need to talk."
