Pollsters react to Bush's bad numbers
03-MAR-06

http://www.shns.com/shns/g_index2.cfm?action=detail&pk=BUSH-POLLS-03-03-06

WASHINGTON -- February was not a good month for President Bush. Reminders of Hurricane Katrina, dissension by congressional Republicans and a bloody month in Iraq contributed to a new series of low poll numbers.

There is little Bush can do to stop his numbers from sliding further, several pollsters said.

G. Terry Madonna, director of the Franklin and Marshall Keystone Poll, an independent poll, recognizes the same problem.

All the polls are based on interviews conducted in late February and early March, and each has a margin of error of plus or minus 3 percentage points. For more details about the polls, visit Real Clear Politics, which links to news and polls about politics: www.realclearpolitics.com/polls.html

2. Obviously they didn't consult faux news' poll
which had scrubbies popularity at 45%, but it had a +/- of 7%, so he could be at 52%.
I heard that little piece on the Stephanie Miller show.
They also asked the important question..."What kind of poll has a plus-minus of 7%?"

So, you weren't far off.

15. The margin of error doesn't mean anything if
there's not a good representative sample- or the questions are inappropriately designed.

And that's typically the case with all of the cheap media polls these days.

7. His probability of being impeached is going vertical after the dems take
over. Bush will be tried in the Hague for war crimes against humanity.

14. Well, to be honest,
His chances of re-election are zero. He's "served" his two terms, and unless the pukes try to take the country by force and impose martial law, this is a dead duck administration.

As far as "served" is concerned, I really do want to see GWB and Dickhead "serve"--preferably VERY long stretches in a maximum security prison.

11. Nice multi-poll comparison at the bottom of this story.
It's helpful to see it laid out like that.

This is harder and harder to spin. Even that British Newsweek reporter on Keith Olbermann's show all the time is finding it harder and harder to "accentuate the positive" about bush. This is another one of those guys who will try to find something favorable to say about the antics of this White House even if it means tying himself up in pretzel knots to do so. Even he can't summon the strength anymore. All he could do was point out the ongoing bad news.

I think we're seeing the pile-on in action now. I remember just seeing a poll on Olbermann's show talking about how the public by a strong majority doesn't trust bush to handle serious problems (I forget the exact wording). That, combined with the latest online Zogby poll that I took, and others here have, as well - that, for the first time in my awareness, asked if you were proud or ashamed that bush is president. NEVER saw anything like that before, and Zogby hasn't done much of what I'd call fawning over georgie-poo. That, on top of a continuing series of missteps, lies, botch-jobs, and scandals, and stuff manifested for all the world to see, on videotape. We're now seeing people on the air remarking about how Brownie has rehabilitated himself and turned the tables on bushie and his Day-of-the-Dead puppet michael chertoff. Amazing. The goat turns out to be almost a hero, while the "My Pet Goat" specialist looks more like Heckuva-job Guy used to. It's just too much happening too closely in succession, and it's just starting to smell too bad. I think things have caught up with bush, in the minds, hearts, eyes, and ears of the American people. A majority of them now speaking this way in all kinds of poll permutations. We ARE seeing it. It IS happening. And more and more people are talking IMPEACHMENT. Nancy Reagan once gave the soon-to-be-ousted Donald Regan the ominous advisory "people are talking." You bet they are. They were in Regan's case, and they are here, now. IMPEACHMENT is NO LONGER all that far-fetched. IMPEACHMENT is NO LONGER unthinkable. It's certainly gone past the unspeakable phase, already.

But we HAVE TO keep working.

Visualize IMPEACHMENT!!!
Then go DO something about it.

16. I believe you're referring to this
I remember just seeing a poll on Olbermann's show talking about how the public by a strong majority doesn't trust bush to handle serious problems (I forget the exact wording).

Of the 1,020 adults surveyed, 59 percent of those interviewed said Bush can't manage the government effectively, and 58 percent said he is not paying enough attention to what his administration is doing.

http://www.cnn.com/2006/POLITICS/03/02/bush.poll/index.html

Visualize impeachment indeed! If Clinton, Gore, or Kerry had these kind of numbers, the media would be bleating "impeach, baaa, baaa, impeach" 24/7.

13. Uh, "Real Clear Politics"
is anything BUT. It's a far right-winged website, so I would take anything they write with a humongous grain of salt.
