Rumsfeld says Tehran government sending military to destabilize Iraq
Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says members of the Iranian military have been slipping into Iraq to make trouble.

Rumsfeld says there's been steady, detectable traffic of members of the military across the Iranian border to destablize Iraq. He says "I doubt they're religious pilgrims" and he believes the activity is taking place with the blessing of the Tehran government.

Rumsfeld says, "I doubt members of the Revolutionary Guard move around willy-nilly."

Rumsfeld did issue this warning -- he says Iranian meddling in Iraqi affairs "is something they will look back on as being an error in judgment."

10. Of course he does.
It's not like, as the post above points out, this is unexpected.

But whether it's really happening or not,

1) They will SAY it is happening, and that Iran is "6 months from a nuke", that Iran is sending sophisticated explosives to Iraq, that Iran's president kidnapped our citizen's 20 years ago, and that Iran is the GREAT - BIG - BOOGEYMAN!!!

BOO!!

and...

2) Must we remind everyone WHO started this war, and that it was a WAR OF CHOICE? And, as it turns out, an UNNECESSARY choice at that (but we also told you that). And if neighboring countries are getting involved, that means WE DE-STABILIZED THE REGION!

Great work, guys.:sarcasm:

away from the cities and station them along the borders until the central government of iraq can control the situation with in the cities. it makes no sense to let the borders open so the iranians can supply the militia in the cities. but we are led by those who make no sense at all when it comes to warfare.

25. "willy-nilly."
Is that like "wooly bully"

Uno, dos, one, two, tres, quatro

Matty told Hatty about a thing she saw.
Had two big horns and a wooly jaw.

Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

Hatty told Matty, "Let's don't take no chance.
Let's not be L-seven, come and learn to dance."

Wooly bully, wooly bully
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

Matty told Hatty, "That's the thing to do.
Get you someone really to pull the wool with you."

Wooly bully, wooly bully.
Wooly bully, wooly bully, wooly bully.

"Those thugs"? Iranian soldiers? Thugs? Most of them are conscripts or joined the Iranian military for pretty much the same reasons our volunteers join, i.e., income, education, health care.

Or perhaps you meant to say, "There is no way that I am rooting for those thugs to kill our thugs."???

34. it's all part of the plan
most of the analysis coming out of iraq says that most of the trouble is caused by local iraqis

maybe funded and armed by iran but none of that is important

how are they going to take the fall election?

between iran's support for the insurgency in iraq and their refusal to back down on the nuclear issue (which the admin knows iran wouldn't support)

air strikes beginning in late July/early August last thru early October - no time for analysis until after the election

anyone saying "i told you so" will be branded unpatriotic

anyone not fully supporting the air strikes will be branded unpatriotic

admin will say "good thing we have those bases in iraq to attack iran"

shrub looking presidential as he orders the strikes, meeting with congressional repugs who he will hail as real leaders

general message will be: "now is not the time for change"

all the repug misdeeds will be lost in the visuals of iranian command and control buildings being blown to bits by precision guided missiles

civilian casualties will be unknown until after the elections

they've been working on this since before the last election - they've got this thing timed - they're creating the "nuclear threat/iraq uprising support/iran as terrorist" message to create the perfect storm - and everything is perfectly on target

it's the same script, but they've honed it since going after iraq

Show us the Iranian Republican guards you have captured and killed.

Heck Rummy, even Hitler knew how to put corpses in uniforms, take a picture and claim Polish aggression. Have you lost so much confidence that you don't even try to pass off doctored evidence anymore? Easier just to pull unverifiable claims out of your ass? No evidence provided no chance to be debunked for the fraud you are.
