Update: Additional areas closed at the airport
By KATU.com Web Staff
PORTLAND, Ore. - Additional areas at Portland International Airport have been closed, including part of the food court, following an inspection of a suspicious bag.
Things had been running fairly smoothly at the airport following an earlier evacuation of the north ticket counter area and a baggage claim area below it when the suspicious bag was discovered.
Some passengers were being delayed as they were shuffled to alternate ticket counters, but other than a short delay, were not greatly inconvenienced.
However, just before 1:30 p.m., other areas of the airport were shut down.
There is no word on what was found inside the suspicious bag and why it may have prompted additional closures.
Maybe they really found something?
