Bush Travels to Vote in Texas Primary
Bush Travels to Vote in Texas Primary
By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer

Tuesday, March 7, 2006

(03-07) 14:16 PST Crawford, Texas (AP) --

President Bush didn't take his responsibility to vote in the Texas Republican primary on Tuesday lightly — he took a nearly 1,500-mile trip from Washington to vote in person.

White House press secretary Scott McClellan wouldn't say whether Bush had to make the trip because he wanted to vote in person or, as some suspect, because aides forgot to get him as absentee ballot.

But the trip will put the president closer to the Gulf Coast, where he planned to get a look at rebuilding in New Orleans and Gulfport, Miss., on Wednesday in his 10th trip to the region since Hurricane Katrina hit.

"It happens to work out well to go ahead and vote in person," McClellan told reporters.

4. It's past time for another bush vacation.
This will give them time to purify the White House while he's down in Crawford.

6. Cost of flying Air Force One: $57,000 an hour
Add to that: His entourage, military and communications gear, evacuation helicopters, local law enforcement costs, cars and hotel rooms and local expense for advance workers, etc. etc.

An administration official, speaking on the condition of anonymity, indicated Saturday that White House staff had slipped up on the paperwork for requesting a mail-in ballot this time.

11. sure, blame it on the staff!
How hard can requesting an absentee ballot be?

If there's too much paperwork and hassle, he can simply attibute it to the incompetent idiot who used to be governor .... oops ...

Actually this little slip up is quite telling.
