Beijing: Faced with shortage of sugar, the Chinese government has decided to sell 400,000 tonnes of sugar from its reserves to stabilise spiralling prices and has asked manufacturers not to hoard the commodity, the state media reported today.

The Chinese government is rumoured to have approved a plan to inject 1.2 million tonnes of reserve sugar into the local market this year to face the shortage and price rise, 'China Daily' reported.

Half of the sugar will come directly from the country's current reserves and the rest will be imported Cuba sugar, which will arrive at Chinese ports soon.

Cuba isn't interested in any stand off with the USA. Especially a military stand off.

Cuba has sought the development of friendly relations with the US for 46+ years. Its been the US governments that have sought conflict since the '59 Revolution, and the Bush regime is more belligerent than any other.

The US needs any customers it can get in these times, but the Bush regime is literally pushing Cuba away as a customer of US products. Pushing away US jobs. Pushing Cuba towards China.
