Pritt libel case set for jury today
FAYETTEVILLE — A Washington, D.C., lawyer who proofed political ads for the National Republican Senatorial Committee agreed in court Thursday that the word “condoms” does not appear in legislation Charlotte Pritt sponsored.

<snip>

In addition to having served as a delegate and a senator, Pritt was a school teacher. Engle said he did not know that when he approved the ads.

One ad said parents should not trust their children with Pritt. When she testified earlier, she said this was the ad that hurt her the most.

Welch wrote and Engle approved an ad after Pritt voted against a bill stating that state superintendents and county school superintendents could not hire convicted drug abusers. Pritt explained she did not vote for that bill because county boards of education, not superintendents, hire people.

“I do not know who actually hires personnel in West Virginia,” Engle said.

The closing arguements and instructions to the jury were today. Let's keep our fingers crossed and winning thoughts going out to Charlotte this weekend!

2. Malicious, scurrilous, rotten, lowdown, lying scum republicans.
It is about time they were held accountable for their lies.

3. I agree
She was an inspirational teacher. This had to have kicked her in the ass to have an ad run warning people to guard their children from her.

You know how you often have one or two teachers that really change how you think about things, who encourage you to "think outside the box" before you even knew you were in a box, who expose you to books and concepts that you had never considered and who changed how you felt about yourself for the rest of your life? Well, she was one of those teachers for me.

She taught a specialty english class when I was in high school that was so different we only had 12 of us in the class. She had us reading things and discussing them in depth when the other english classes were writing trivial essays and vocab words. She was my teacher, but she became my friend.

I will always hold love in my heart for her and disdain in my heart for those that have hurt her!

7. Let Us Hope, Ma'am
That the jury has the common sense, decency, and loyalty to the United States to sustain this woman's suit against these lying corruptors of our electoral system. A conviction would be of immense value to the nation as a whole.
