Iraq secure in couple of years: Rice
March 16, 2006

THE US predicts war-torn Iraq will transform into a stable and secure nation within the next couple of years.

While the country is wracked by insurgent activity at present, US Secretary of State Condoleezza Rice says that will change.

"There is a very good chance that the Iraqis, with the support of their coalition partners, will have built the foundation for a stable and secure Iraq over the next couple of years," she said in Sydney after a meeting with Foreign Minister Alexander Downer.

"I believe that like many peoples who have gone through the trials of trying to build a democracy they will succeed."

1. Stable Iraq?
When the most influential Ayatollah, al-Sistani, issued his fatwa yesterday that gays should be killed in the "worst, most severe way", I suppose Condi would not see that as particularly unstable. This is, of course, the Shia cleric who is going to be at the top of the heap in Iran. Clerical bloodlust.

2. IRAG ON THE ROCKS
the boobs(neo-con) like to blame clinton for everything. but you can't put a boob(dubya) in the same category as a rhodes scholar. the biggest mistake "bush" made was going into iraq in a ground war.
this will go down in history as the worse mistake any president has ever made.
he was advised by many that a ground war and occupation would be costly, time consuming and probably not attainable. they even coheresed the military to proceed with their plan.
well a trillion plus dollars later,a government in shambles(ours and iraq's) debt mounting everyday
because of this arrogant administration. the people are demanding a change in policy.
one thing "dubya and the ever-ready man(get ur gun cheney)and dumbsfeld are going to learn the hard way is;(their last weeks news)
they are about to undergo the wrath of the people. and the "texas mafia" won't be able to do one damn thing about it.
we've spoken;heads will roll: in the beginning from the bottom,at the end of investigation right to the top.
his good friends are scattering like knewt when he left washington guilty of the very crime he accused "clinton of".
i believe when this episode is played out "nixon" will look like a saint.
impeachment,censure. "HELL fire the bums"

3. THE POLLS ARE RIGHT

the polls show "bush" at 34-37%. the major reason "iraq" and his dismal handeling of katrina, tax cuts, and cutting of domestic programs while mis- spending on military and homeland security.
the mis-spending of homeland security funds should be investigated. and heads should roll in that dept. from the top down.
we will be years climbing out of the debt load these fools have accrued.
the only thing the history books should say about any of this administration is: absolute power corrupts!

6. "In the next couple of years . . . "
When I was a kid on a long car ride and the inevitable "When are we going to get there?" mantra started, my folks would answer with the vague, "We're almost there." This routine would go on at least 15 times as "almost there" stretched into a couple of hours. So if Condi is promising "in a couple of years", she means quite a while from now.

13. The insurgency is in it's "last throes"
These people have zero credibility. Zero.

The media has to prop them up and legitimize their lies just to make the horserace interesting.
