Democratic Prospects in Senate Looking Up

WASHINGTON - It wasn't too long ago that Democratic leader Harry Reid mused aloud how it would take a miracle for his party to gain a 50-50 tie in the Senate, much less wrest control from Republicans this fall.

No one is claiming divine intervention in the days since. Yet eight months before midterm elections, Republican incumbents in Pennsylvania, Montana, Rhode Island, Ohio and Missouri face difficult races for re-election in a noticeably more challenging political environment for the GOP. And the early polls show a competitive campaign in Tennessee, where Majority Leader Bill Frist is retiring.

"We're feeling pretty good. If they did a snapshot today, the Senate would be 50-50," said New York Sen. Chuck Schumer, campaign committee chairman for the Democrats.

"We've got some competitive races, no question," agreed North Carolina Sen. Elizabeth Dole, Schumer's counterpart at the GOP campaign committee. She predicted a "strong Republican majority" after the elections, and said the GOP will challenge for Democratic seats in Washington, Maryland, New Jersey and elsewhere.

He's sucking in the polls right now. I think he's behind the likely Republicans by about 10-15%. There is one potential GOP nominee who is tied with Ford but not likely to get the nomination.

It got plenty of play and showed he could quickly capitalize on an issue that worked to his advantage.

Who knows if that changed it? Zogby's numbers outta be released within the next two weeks for us to see.

And Florida as the only possible upset for them - but only if Harris drops out.

Last I saw, in Virginia, Webb's only 9 points behind the popular Allen. Pretty good for this far away. And the poll was Rasmussen! Webb seems to be a fighter.

New Mexico and Maryland have done it and we need every other state to follow that trend or have national legislation make it that way. I think if enough groups bug their senators enough on this, we can get some competent legislation in. Guys, this is the most important issue right now, and it's hard for us to really be able to trust the results with these infernal machines being relied on.

Dole has done nothing but tow the party line. I can't think of one position she's taken that is at odds with the Repug leaders. So, of course, she's going to "predict" a "strong Republican majority". Her brainwashed mind is programmed to say things like that, even when there's little evidence to back it up.

An intresting thing happened in the state of Washington. One very sinister republican ran for governor and lost,he challenged that loss and it carried on the the courts for seven months. He claimed he was robbed of the election,they claimed fellon votes were at the core of it and that the democrates were at the top of a conspiracy.Dinno Rossi is nothing more than a lier and as it turned out the at the end of the trial ,to the challange of the election outcome ,as it turned out a few fellons testified to have had voted in the 2004 election,the majority voted for Dinno Dossi the (R) candidate a green candiate vote and one for the seating governor.All of these votes were from King county the target area of the republican party for faults, and the least likely to yeild much in any gain to the republicans.Sliding numbers also appeared in the evening of the vote count.Durning the trial proceedings a mayor of the secound largest city in the state of Washington was under suspician of using his political office as a means of gaining sexual favors by hiring young gay men.A investagation took hold and ultimately lead to his removal from office.This investagation took seven months.We have experienced many things over the past six years,but I think next month is the beginning of Bush,s seven.777.
