Feinstein cites Bush Iraq 'incompetence'
U.S. Sen. Dianne Feinstein, D-Calif., blamed the Bush administration's "dangerous incompetence" for the difficulty in securing the peace in Iraq. Feinstein, delivering the Democrats' weekly radio address, said the Iraqis need to take over primary responsibility for the country's security this year "so our troops can be responsibly redeployed."

U.S. President George W. Bush has said Iraqi forces should be in control over most of the country by the end of the year. Feinstein said this decision was a "welcomed departure from an administration that has blindly insisted on 'staying the course.'"

Bush has also said that conditions on the ground in Iraq will dictate U.S. military redeployments -- not "arbitrary deadlines" set by Washington politicians. Feinstein said Bush needs to exercise leadership to bring the political factions in Iraq together to form a unity government to overcome previous problems.

"Even administration officials acknowledge that we've made little progress on the political, security and reconstruction fronts," Feinstein said. "It didn't have to be this way, but the administration's dangerous incompetence has made the job harder."

1. It's not "incompetence"; that's implying Dems would have done
the SAME THING BUT BETTER.
Try "illegal".
"War crimes".
"Evil".

9. I could be wrong...
but Murtha was pretty much in favor of 'withdrawal'--isn't
DiFi more for Reed's 'strategic redeployment' option...

Sure you are probably right--might come down to semantics or a stall tactic

Bush has been running America like a drunk driving a pickup truck...
but the Dems in Congress went along with giving him him the keys.

11. I'm not a Di Fi fan,
nor have I ever been, but could she actually be coming around somewhat? I mean, yes, she's up for re-election, but she doesn't really have a serious challenge to her seat, either. Reason I say this is, remember the Scalito filibuster attempt? How two weeks prior to the vote, she told the Wa Po that she wouldn't support the filibuster, and then WE THE PEOPLE bombarded her offices with faxes, calls and e mails and she came around?

Our so-called leaders have not been listening. But the voice of the armchair activist grows daily. We have a lot of energy and anger on our side that continues to go untapped. Maybe some of them are catching on. Lets hope, anyway.
