Bush to Share His Optimism on Iraq
By NEDRA PICKLER, Associated Press Writer
22 minutes ago

WASHINGTON - President Bush sought Monday to emphasize progress over disillusionment after three years in Iraq, urging Americans to see a developing democracy beyond the frequent images of violence.

Meeting at the White House with NATO Secretary General Jaap de Hoop Scheffer before departing for Cleveland, Bush said the military alliance's training mission in Iraq will help ensure that Iraqi security forces "can end up protecting the Iraqi people from those who want to kill innocent life in order to affect the outcome of that democracy."

NATO's role in Iraq has been limited to the training and some logistical support, as opposition led by France and Germany has prevented broader involvement.

Bush was marking this week's third anniversary of the war by making speeches aimed at boosting support for his mission in Iraq, which has drawn increasing public skepticism at home, according to various polls.

Grab your coat and get your hat,
leave your worry at the doorstep
Just direct your feet
to the sunny side of the street

Can't you hear that pitter pat
and that happy tune is your step
Life can be so sweet
on the sunny side of the street

He is too busy trying to sell his little war to figure our how to win the war. Not that he has any intentions of winning anyway

7. with the cavalier attitude King George the Imbecile has
its not terribly hard to be optimistic. Remember its not his kids or jebby's or most in Congress who's dying.
Plus when you can call the bank (treasury) and tell them to raise the debt limit no wonder he has this optimism. Shameful feckless POS POTUS....

12. He's fucking delusional
and those who write headlines like this are enablers for his delusionalness. It reminds me of tweety raving about bush's "sunny nobility". Makes it sound like he's out there seeing the light while those of us who think he's a fuckin idiot are cowering in the dark. You know who he reminds me of? Kevin Bacon in Animal House, where he screams "All is well" even as the crowd runs over and flattens him.

14. George III to share his optimism on defeating the American rebels.
London, 1779

Today, three years after the beginning of the rebellion in the American Colonies, King George III assured the Parliment that the rebel colonists and their foreign supporters would soon be defeated and that the majority of American Colonists remained loyal to England.

More images need to be broadcast to show people what is really going on. Actions speak louder than words.
