Bush to speak in West Virginia about Iraq war

WASHINGTON (CNN) -- President Bush's campaign to bolster support for the war in Iraq moves to West Virginia on Wednesday, a day after reporters peppered him with questions on the subject at a White House news conference.

Bush is scheduled to make brief remarks on the Iraq war during his appearance at Capitol Music Hall in Wheeling and then take questions from an audience of about 2,500 people. The event is set to begin at 12:15 p.m. ET.

Bush's speech follows his wide-ranging news conference Tuesday where the president rejected the idea that Iraq was in a civil war and suggested that U.S. troops could be deployed there for years. Total withdrawal "will be decided by future presidents and future governments of Iraq," he said. (Watch what he had to say about a possible civil war -- 6:59)

An optimistic Bush, defying his plunging approval rating and dipping opinion polls about the war, said, "I'm optimistic we'll succeed. If not, I'd pull our troops out."

The event was sponsored by the Wheeling Chamber of Commerce (R), Wheeling Intelligencer (R) and Clear Channel (R) (they own the Capitol Music Hall and I think 7 Clear Channel Stations located in the building). The tickets were issued to the WCC members and invited guests. The MSM keeps saying they were mainly military families, sure there were some there but I don't think they were mostly military families. I think that is Bushco spin for the military families support the war.
How about the asshole that thanks God Bush is our President. The most disturbing statement Bush made was "Eim da Educator in Chief". Another one was the planted question blaming the MSM for reporting the bad news, it was disturbing that that line got the biggest applause.
In 2004 he filled the Civic center with about 7000 people and Kerry got about 10000 at the Heritage Port in 2004. This time they had to use the smaller Capitol Music Hall that seats around 2400.

When is America going to object to Bush NOT speaking to EVERYONE? I think that's the wrong "take". It's the Iraqi's who must succeed. If the goal is to get the country stabilized, and that we are there only to create the environment for a political solution to be able to emerge, then "we" cannot really achieve success. All we can do is help them achieve success.

What "success" or "victory" is he talking about that we can achieve?

If Bush's fractured grammar and incomprehensible logic makes him "Educator-in-Chief" that we ARE in bad shape. I can visualize "red-penciling" everything that comes out of his spontaneous presentations which are brimming with sloppy English.:crazy:

Note: We all have "sloppy English", and that is understandable..... but "we" are NOT President of the United States. Will we ever have a president again who has MASTERED his native language and who is comfortable speaking extemporaneously?
